Chapter 20

I've been turning over on my bed from left to right, heaved a deep sigh, shutting my eyes closed, but my head has been fucked up by what happened this morning, I couldn't sleep.

"Because he had to kill his wife."

Those words from Margaux kept on repeating in my head like a pirated CD. For a damn reason, I know she doesn't like me here. She doesn't like me being close to any Knights. Hindi ako manhid para hindi yun maramdaman. But of course, it wasn't her fault after all why I can't sleep. In the first place, ako yung nag-demand ng sagot. Unsolicitatedly, she just answered it.

Right after Margaux said those words, Alpha dragged her somewhere. He doesn't look happy from the way I saw it. That might be the reason why he looked hesitated when I asked him about the Adams. It wasn't easy to answer, to begin with.

I won't deny anything. I don't understand why I'm still surprised to hear about his wife. I mean, he's been existing in this world for more than six hundred years. He's still a man. He's capable of doing whatever he wants and one of that is falling in love. Dapat mas masurpresa ako kung nalaman kong NBSB din siyang tulad ko. Siguro napakalungkot nun. Imagine that.

Why I can't keep my head off from that revelation?

Is it because I'm more curious about what really happened to his wife and its connection with the Adams and Arc?

Damn. He's been through a lot. Really.

When I opened my eyes, I saw myself on a field where there are white small flowers growing everywhere. Trees are on both sides. Mataas na ang sikat ng araw pero napakasarap ng simoy ng hangin.

Nananaginip na naman ba ako?

Sa 'di kalayuan, may nakita akong babaeng nakatayo. I walked towards her.

"Who are you?" I asked the woman standing in front of me. Nakatalikod siya sa akin kaya hindi ko alam kung kilala ko ba siya. There's something in her that felt familiar. Maikli lang ang buhok niya. She's a bit taller than me. Nakasuot siya ng kulay puting dress na hanggang tuhod.

Nililipad ng sariwang hangin ang laylayan ng damit niya at ang kanyang buhok. Hinintay ko siyang sumagot. Sa halip, humarap siya sa akin.

Nagising ako dahil sa malakas na katok nang kung sino man. Tumayo ako para buksan ang pintuan. I'm still half-asleep. I couldn't even open my eyes properly.
