Chapter 2

Third Person P.O.V.

Chika runs up to Chrystal and grabs her hand.

"Come into the water Chrystal!" The red-eyed girl insists, tugging on the taller girl's hand.

"A-Ah, Chika. No thanks," Chrystal awkwardly pulls her hand away from the energetic second year.

"Aw, come on! It'll be fun!" Chika gives Chrystal a small push.

The clumsy blue-eyed girl stumbles and falls face first into the water. Although the water is quite shallow, she still panics. Chrystal quickly pushes herself up and runs back to the shore in a panicked manner.

Mari, of course, notices this and rushes over to calm her best friend and crush. She hugs the panicking girl and assures her that everything is going to be alright.

After calming down, Chrystal relaxes in Mari's arms. Mari runs her fingers through Chrystal's hair and whispers sweet things into her ears.

"Just date already!" Kanan teases the two girls.

Chrystal, disregarding the diver's comment, snuggles her nose right into Mari's neck. This action makes Mari blush, but she tightens her grip around the smaller girl.

"I-I was so s-scared," the smaller girl whimpers, gripping Mari's shirt as if her life depends on it.

"I know," Mari whispers in english, making Chrystal's mouth curve up slightly.

Chika walks over to the duo, a guilty expression present on her face. She kneels down next to Chrystal and ruffles her hair a bit.

"I-I'm sorry Chrystal. I didn't know..," Chika looks away from the brunette.

Chrystal leans over to wrap her arms around Chika's shoulders. She insists that it's okay and that she isn't angry. Mari, being very protective of Chrystal, keeps her arms wrapped around her.

Chrystal smiles and nuzzles her nose against Chika's. She typically does this as if saying 'Everything is fine.' Many of the Aqours members had experienced such before and now know that everything is alright.

"Hey, Chika?" Chika hums in response, "Have you been asked to the dance by anyone yet?"

Chika nervously laughs and plays with her thumbs, "I have."

"EH!?" Everyone except Chika shouts.

"By who!?" Riko inquires.

"Ah, well, she's a third year. Alten, I think?" She places her finger against her temple, as if trying to remember the details.

"Did you say Alten?" Mari asks.

Chika nods. The four third years stare at Chika in shock.

"A-Alten asked you to the dance?" Chrystal continues.

Chika nods once more.

"No way..." Kanan says. The four look at each other, trying to comprehend what they just heard.

"Is there something strange about that?" Chika inquires.

"Oh absolutely. Alten almost never talks. She is the silent and unnoticed type of girl. She is said to be quite stoic and many wonder if she has feelings at all. She's never gone to any dance before, ever. So the fact that she asked you to a dance is extremely shocking," Kanan elaborates.

"Really? She seemed plenty sweet to me. She even took me out for mikan ice cream after she asked me!" Chika smiles, remembering the wonderful moment.

"Woah," Mari mumbles.

"Never though Alten of all people would have a crush," Dia comments.

"I'm kinda curious though," Chrystal smirks a bit.

"Yeah, me too," Kanan agrees.

"Jeez, you don't need to make such a big deal about it!" Chika blushes, "We're probably just going as friends."

"Chika, dear, this is the most romantic dance of the year. Not only that, but Alten would NOT just ask anyone. To a dance nonetheless," Chrystal explains.

"I vote we head to the mall to help Chika pick out a dress for the dance," You salutes, "All in favor say 'Yousoro!'"

"YOUSORO!" the rest of the group (discluding Chika) shouts.

"Hmm, it somehow doesn't feel right," You says, examining the sleeveless red dress Chika has on.

"It's a bit tight," Chika groans.

"I have an idea," Ruby shyly mentions.

"What is it, Ruby?" Dia encourages her younger sister to share her idea.

"W-what if we just had You-Chan make Chika a dress. T-then we won't have to worry about size or design," Ruby explains.

"Great idea Ruby!" You exclaims as Chika, who had just changed out of the red dress, nods in agreement.

The ten girls walk out of the store, chatting away. All of them seemingly satisfied with the compromise they decided on. Suddenly, Chika runs ahead...

Straight into Alten's arms. Alten hugs the small girl back and unnoticably sniffs her hair, which smells of mikan (of course).

The girls stare at the two girls in shock. Noticing Chika's happy state, they bid themselves goodbye to the duo. Chika waves to them as the other nine girls walk off. She turns back to face Alten.

"So, what do you wanna do?" Chika asks.

Alten holds out her arm for Chika to take. Of course, Chika being Chika, she immediately takes it. Alten looks down at the small girl.

"I'd do anything with you by my side."
