"Do you really have to go? Just stay with me," Larry pulled Piper onto the bed. Shed been pacing her room all morning making sure she doesn't leave anything behind. "You can't leave me alone with three more years of high school left."

Piper takes a deep breath. She wanted nothing more than to stay here. With Larry. He was the best boyfriend she'd ever had. She squeezed his hand, her own little way of telling Larry she loved him without saying a word. "You know I don't wanna leave you. Or Polly. But my dads job is in queens it's only a few hour flight from here." Of course she knew he wouldn't be able to visit during the school year. She was quiet positive that they would break up because of the distance.

"Piper you know I can't fly up there all the time."

"I know." She felt a knot in her throat as she was about to ask the most dreaded question "do you think we should break up?" Piper closed her eyes tightly, causing tears to fall onto her cheeks.

"No... I mean I don't want to... but I think it would probably make this a lot easier for the both of us."

Piper rested her head on Larry's shoulder and let herself cry. Larry put his arm around her. He didn't want to end this, but he had his life to live, after all they were only 16. He would want to be able to date other girls. He also didn't want to be such a burden on Piper. She's a pretty girl, and she should date other people too.

They laid on the bed for what felt like five minutes, but when Piper checked her watch, It had actually been two hours. "Shit," She whispered as she got up and walked to the door. "I have to go meet my parents at the car."

Larry nodded and followed. They walked out the front door, and she hugged him goodbye and joined her family in the car.

Piper was dreading this day for a long time. Her parents tried to get her to be optimistic about the move, but to a teenage girl, leaving her friends and home town is the end of the world. "Oh don't look so down, Piper, your father and I agree that this is gonna be good for you. You'll meet new people and maybe you'll find a nice boy," Carol, her mother said.

She didn't respond. She didn't want to meet a 'nice boy' she already had one. The car ride was mostly quiet. Her dad and brother would talk about sports that Piper wasn't interested in, and there was some music playing in the background.

They arrived at the airport, and started to make their way through all of the annoying lines. It took them an hour to even make it up to the medal detectors. But the longest part was waiting for their flight. The family didn't talk much. It finally hit them that they were leaving the place they'd been living for years.

After awhile, it was time to get on the plane. It was actually her first time on one, and Piper wasn't looking forward to having to sit next to strangers. Her family got tickets last minute, so they couldn't get seats together.

She went to sit down, a girl with long, jet black hair, and glasses looked up from the book she was reading and raised one eyebrow as she looked at Piper. Piper smiled at the girl. She looked to be her age, which was a relief.

As she settled into her seat, she took a deep breath, and let it out slowly. The mysterious brunette smirked. "First time?" She asked as she moved her glasses to rest on the top of her head.

"Is it that obvious?"

"Fuck yeah. You look like the new girl in school trying to find a lunch table," she smiled.

Piper laughed. "I'm Piper."

"Alex."

"So do you live in Queens?" Piper asked.

"Yeah, my job has me traveling all the time."

"Really? What do you do?" What kind of job has a teenage girl traveling all the time?

"I'm a drug mule." She reply's plainly with a shrug.

Piper chuckled and looked back at Alex for the real answer. "Wait seriously?" She whispered.

Alex laughed, She didn't know why but her laugh made Piper feel strange. In a good way.

"If you're serious then why did you tell me?"

"Eh I don't know. You have one of those faces." Alex smirked.

They spent the next few minutes ignoring the safety instructions on what to do if the plane started to crash and talked about how Alex has been all over the world instead, and she's only a few months older than Piper.

Then, the plane started moving. Piper gripped onto the armrest, and without intent, grabbed onto Alex's arm. She pulled her hand away. "Sorry." She said shyly.

"Do worry about it. Here." Alex handed Piper a pice of gum.

"What does my breath stink?" She replied jokingly while taking the gum.

"It's for when your ears start to pop."

Piper looked to the girl with wide eyes. She already hates flying and she's not even in the air yet.

Alex slid the window covering away, so that they could see the plane pick up speed on the runway. And within seconds, they were off the ground and rising. The ebony haired girl looked over to see a look of pure shock on Pipers face. She laughed slightly, remembering her first flight. She was only 14. She sat in the middle seat between a kid who was probably only 9 and a very rude woman who looked around 40. Lucky for her the plane ride was only two hours, so she didn't have to deal with the child asking her ridiculous questions and the woman telling her that she was probably too tall and dressed to strange to find a man.

The flight they were on now was going to be a a little over four hours, and both the teens were looking forward to talking to each other. Piper never met anyone who she really wanted to listen to. She'd never met anyone more interesting than Alex. And Alex for some reason felt like she could trust this girl, and watching her expression change as she spoke about traveling was so captivating to her. She never saw anyone as beautiful as her.

"Hey Piper, mom asked some lady to switch seats if you want to sit next to us?" Her brother Cal said as he walked down the aisle from his seat. Piper could see Alex make a disappointed face.

"Oh. Um... I'm actually good here, Cal, but thanks." She gave him a look that screams go away. Alex smiled to herself and put her glasses back on the bridge of her nose.

She was really begging to like this girl.
