Lance POV

I really don't understand why Keith is so hesitant about talking to me... I don't think I did anything wrong, right? And plus, it's not like he likes me. That would just be weird, since he hasn't seen me in forever, or so he says. (Also he didn't meet me and the others this morning so I was bummed about that...)

I was sitting in class with Keith on my left as I tapped a pencil against my cheek in a rhythmic loop. I didn't bother paying attention much because no exams were coming up, that I wouldn't know about. So, I decided to doodle... A drawing of... Keith. Thankfully he didn't look over at me once. But it seemed as if he was ignoring me. I really did fuck up in some way, didn't I?

I sighed sadly and Keith flinched, glancing over at me. I gave him a half-smile and waved, but he turned back around immediately. I pouted, then started doodling all over a page in my notebook.

Class was finally over, and I managed to catch up to Keith as he was about to race out the door to his next class. "Keith! Hey, bud!" Is that weird to say? Oh well.

Keith turned around with a blush coating his cheeks, his eyes wide, (a/n: knees weak, arms are heavy, mom's spaghetti kk sorri) and his brows furrowed.

"Uhh hi, Lance," He murmured, not making eye contact with me.

"Hey, so, once classes are over, you wanna go hang out at the bar close to campus? A friend of mine is playing tonight! O-or, if you don't drink, we could go to a cafe?" I asked. Jeez, I should have thought this through. I gave him a bright smile that tried to hide my insecurities and worries. He looked down at the ground then looked back at me.

"Uhm... S-sure," He mumbled, picking off lint from his sweater (THAT HE LOOKED SO FREAKING HOT IN TAKE ME) *ahem* and I really liked the clothes he was wearing, they looked great on him. (A/n: but they'll look better on Lance's floor ;)))))) okok I'm sorry I'll stop now)

"Great!" I said and smiled. His eyes softened for a moment and his lips twitched, about to turn into a smile.

"Mhm, g-great, yeah, I'll see you later. K, bye!" He mumbled as he walked away. I cocked my head and shrugged as I went off to my next class.

After school

"Keith!" I smiled as I saw the black haired boy. He turned to look at me and gave me a smile. (It looked a bit forced...)

"Hi... Lance," He said. I grabbed his arm and he widened his eyes, looking at my hand like it was a foreign object.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Let's go!" I grinned. He nodded, and we started walking.

"So, tell me about yourself!" I piped up as we were waiting to cross a street.

"Oh uh..." He started. "Well, I moved from Houston, Texas to Camden, Maine... when I met..." He swallows. "Uh, you." I looked at the ground guiltily. I mean, it's not really my fault, right? We'll become friends again, yeah?

Flashback:

"Keith!" The 9 year old blue-eyed boy yelled over to his Korean friend.

"Yeah?"

"Look! I got an A on the math test!" He replied and shoved his paper in Keith's face with a big smile spreading over his face.

"Oh, that's nice," Keith muttered. Lance frowned and lowered the paper.

"What's wrong, Keefy?" Lance asked quietly. "Did something happen at school? Did someone hurt you?"

"No, nothing like that. I just," Keith started. "I'm moving again, Lance." Lance's brows furrowed and his shoulders squared up.

"What? Why?"

Keith shrugged. "I dunno, my dad found a new job." Lance felt his eyes welling up with tears.

"B-but... W-who will I be able to hang out with? You're my best friend, Keith!"

Keith's head lowered and he looked down at his lap.  They both sat quietly at the table with Lance sniffing here and there. Keith's lower lip trembled as he threw his arms over Lance's torso with his chin in the crook of Lance's neck. "I'll miss you, Lance... J-just..." Keith sucked in a breath as his voice started to waver. "P-please don't forget me."

They both hugged in the silence of the room. They didn't need to say any words to understand what the other one was thinking.
