Chapter 17- I Now Pronounce You, Boyfriend & Girlfriend

Sofia stood there admiring the view, the warm glow of the lanterns, the smiles plastered onto the children's faces as they ran around chasing each other. Sofia sighs. 

Sofia: It's so beautiful out here. Did you know I never went to an actual forest ever? Until I was 14 years old?

Kusuo: Seriously?

Sofia: Yeah even though I wanted to go since I was like 6. I'm so glad I got to go to the festival with you. *blushes a little*

Kusuo: Follow me..... I .. I want to give you something

They walk away for a bit, until there is almost no one. Even though they are still like 6 meters from the festival itself. Kusuo pulls out from somewhere in his kimono a little box. Inside is a ring with a small jewel on it.

Kusuo: The ring is made purely of germanium, it blocks all thoughts in range.

Sofia: Thank you so much Kusuo! Actually I have a gift for you too. 

Sofia pulls out a small rectangle shaped box. Inside were a pair of glasses just like Kusuo's but the had an engraving on the outside that read "To my Love".

Kusuo: ????

Sofia: I had them custom made. They are lined with lead so they disable your x-ray vision unless you take them off.

Kusuo: Tha-Thank you. 

Kusuo takes off his glasses with his eyes closed and puts on the new ones.

Sofia: Well? Ho does everyone look? 

Kusuo: They all look normal.... everyone looks like humans with clothes on...... Thank you sofia....

The fireworks begin as Kusuo lifts her chin upward and plants a kiss on her lips. Of course at the most inconvenient time Kumagoro walks by and sees Kusuo and Sofia kiss.

Kumagoro- *Most shook-eth face on earth* .......

They apart from their kiss and Sofia is the first to notice Kusuo's grandpa standing there.

Sofia: Ah! Kumagoro-sama!

Kusuo whips around not knowing what to do. All of them are silent for a few moments. Sofia and Kusuo began to back away and walk off before Kumagoro shouts out loud.

Kumagoro: My grandson has a secret girlfriend!?!?!?

Sofia: Please don't scream it out so loudly. We well.....

Sofia- I guess that's what you would call us at this point.... right?

Kusuo- Well we are already doing what boyfriend and girlfriends do, so yeah

Sofia: We have been keeping it a secret because some people would make it a big deal.

Kumagoro: I see...

Kumagoro- I can't believe my ears!!! My grandson has a girlfriend!!!! My heart might explode!!!!! but she better not break his heart......

Sofia- He sure acts like a mom/dad sometimes but is really good at holding it in...

Kusuo- Too much of a Tsundere for me if you ask.

Kumagoro: Well I'll keep quiet, but only because your mother and grandmother would start going crazy if they found out. The noise would drive me insane.

They parted ways and continued enjoying their time. They enjoyed the rest of their time watching the fireworks and watching all the displays. They all leave having enjoyed themselves to the fullest. This time on the way back Sofia, Kusuo, and Kusuke sat in the middle row, while Kurumi and Kuniharu sat in the very back. On the way back Sofia fell asleep on Kusuke, who himself pretended to be asleep too so that he could hide his red face. Kusuo sighed and fell asleep too, but all 3 fell victim to photos taken by Kumi and Kurumi.

The next day was going to be a bother. Kumagoro was attempting everything he could to get them to stay another day. On the first attempt he popped one of the tires but Sofia easily found the other tire and replaced it quickly. On the second attempt he  syphoned the gas but Kusuo placed it in the trunk just before they left. Kumagoro thought all hope was gone until, by the grace of god (Kusuo really hates him) there was a rockslide that blocked the road.

Sofia- You know, this would probably be the best time to revel your powers to them....

Kusuo- I supposed you're right. After all I can't hide this for forever.

Sofia- and they have a right to know.

Kusuo- *gets out of car*

Kurumi- Kusuo?

Kusuo- *to his mom* It's time they found out...

Everyone ended up getting out of the car one by one with Kumagoro complaining as to why is everyone getting out of the car in the first place. They might as well just go home now. 

Kumi: When you're as old as me, you pick up on things. We know you've been hiding something about Kusuo.

Kurumi: Well... the thing is Kusuo..... is a psychic.

Kumi & Kumagoro both look over to Kusuo as is they were waiting for a denial or something, but he just raises his right hand in responses. All the rubble lifts and repairs itself in the cliff. Both of them just gap with their mouths wide open.

Kumagoro- Wait does this mean he could hear my thoughts this whole time??!

Kusuo- *To his grandpa* Loud and clear,  but don't worry I won't tell anyone.
