First day in the new school. After being called ugly, too skinny, pimple face and being cut off from a majority of the people in the class, I decided it was time I find better. Also, I was convinced that I cannot go through 9th grade successfully if I stayed there. So I left my old school, SJS high [or rather hell] for SCS public school.
SCS does not have a good reputation. It is known to "torture" the students to score higher and even had a few cases of suicide and death because of..... well no one knows the truth. Then why did I decide to come here? Id like to say for better grades, but I don't really know deep down.
I am aliyah and this is the story of the biggest change that happened to me in almost a decade.
So coming back, first day of school, and I carpooled with my other friend, alana, who was also shifting with me from the SJS to SCS so we could help each other not get lost in the new place. we reached the school campus, or more like an apartment-turned campus of SCS. It is so small you wouldn't even be able to see it if you passed by that road. Just a small place to play and a little part with a slide and two swings and a very small building 3 storeys high. Just 2 years ago I was going to shift here but I cried my way out of it and decided to stick to SJS, but just how fast that little girl changed her mind!! Yeah, so I guess I belonged here.
We go to the reception and ask for our class. "the first class on the last floor" replies the receptionist so we say bye to alana's dad and start off on our way upstairs. Since we are new and didn't have the uniform, every single person was staring at us like we were some sort of unique dog breed. We somehow go through all the staring eyes and reach our class. The classrooms were decent, with 9 long desks arranged in 3 columns. We were the first ones to reach the class and just sat there for a while. "dude what the heck of a campus is this?" says alana. "didn't you see the campus before? When you came in to take admission?" said I, genuinely surprised. "nope. I just came because you and shanya were also coming." Yeah well I knew that. All three of us, the three best friends, decided to shift. But how can she not even see the campus?? "dude. You didn't even see the campus and only came so we could stick together. That's awesome!!" I said.
After a while of imagining what our class in going to be like, we decide to take a tour of the campus.
Where do girls go together all the time??
Girls room.
And you wouldn't believe me, but there were no.doors.in.the.washroom.
NO.DOORS.
We head out of there and back to our class, where we see a girl with hair so long little kids could skip with it. Anyway since she was the only person that we could talk to, we go to her and introduce ourselves. Her name is also aliyah, spelt alia. Lol. going good so far. We laugh about it for a while. Then some kid comes into the class and says we have to go down to the ground for morning assembly.
I like the people here so far. They don't see you and whisper into each other's ears. I guess that's enough for me.
Then comes the assembly. I didn't know a single song they sang and felt so awkward just standing there staring at alana's head. But its okay. Ill learn the songs sooner or later. What im really looking forward is it to the lessons. Well along with the normal 9th grade [im in 9th grade] lessons, we have extra courses for competitive exams and this is what im really looking forward to.
