Chapter 30: One Year Later

Aaron's POV

"Tumaas ang sales natin for the last 6 months. Marami naring investors na gustong mag-invest sa company. Ang ibang hindi nakapasok, they proposed to be our third party seller, sir."

I nodded my head at my marketing head officer. "Paano naman ang production natin? Wala na bang kulang o problema sa budget?"

"So far, wala pa naman po. Our equipments are good for the next months' supply. Doble pa nga po ang budget na meron ang deparment kaya walang magiging problema kung sakaling kumulang ang mga equipments."

"Good. Keep up the good work, guys." I smiled at them and they clapped their hands saka ko na sila dinismissed.

I fixed my things nung nag-aalisan na sila and gathered my personal belongings inside my bag.

"Sir Aaron, ire-rewrite ko po lahat ng napag-usapan ngayon at saka ko po ise-send sa email ninyo mamaya lahat ng details."

"Okay. Meron pa ba akong kailangan gawin o permahan?" Tanong ko sa secretary ko habang tumitingin sa relo ko. "Because I have to leave now."

"Wala na po."

I nodded. "Okay. Thanks, Pam. I'll see you tomorrow."

Nagmadali akong umalis ng conference room. I was on my way to the elevator when dad called my name. I turned around to face him. He was smiling widely.

"I heard everything is going well. I am proud of what you have accomplished for a short period of time, son," he said while patting my shoulder looking so proud.

"Thanks, dad. It won't be possible without your help. So I thank you the most."

He smiled at me. "I only taught you but you were the one who did the work. I was right na madali mong makuha ang pasikot-sikot sa business because you're a smart man. You always made me proud kahit noong nag-aaral kapalang."

Natawa ako ng konti sabay iling. They said I was smart pero hindi ko masyadong iniisip na matalino nga ako kasi hindi naman importante sa akin ang bagay na yan.

"Saan na ngayon ang lakad mo? Mukhang nagmamadali ka."

"Trixie and I are going to meet. She is going to tell me something about Rosetta," I told dad while smiling. He nodded his head as a response.

Dad knew everything I did for Rosetta. Sinabi ko sa kanya na si Trixie ang way para may balita ako sa anak ko. Trixie updated me of Rosetta's whereabouts. Lagi din siyang nagpapadala sakin ng pictures ng anak ko. I saved all of them. I was a proud father from afar seeing her pictures wearing a school uniform and whenever she had achievements in school. Pati ang mga talents niya sa pagkanta at pag play ng piano ay humahanga ako. One time, Trixie sent videos of her playing piano while singing, and I was teary eyed. I was so proud. It was my wish to see her one day, in person, playing a piano as she sang.

It had been a year since I started working in our family's company. Rosetta was the reason why inspired ako magtrabaho at magsumikap. I always looked at her pictures and it made me smile. I became more inspired to work hard whenever I saw her pictures especially the pictures wherein she was smiling.

Palagi din akong nagpapadala ng regalo sa kanya pero yun nga lang, ang alam niya ay galing ang mga iyon kay Trixie. But I didn't mind as long as masaya siya. Trixie would tell me kung ano ang gustong gift ni Rosetta and I would immediately buy it for her then Trixie would take a video of her reaction when she saw my gift. It was priceless to see how happy she looked with anything I gave her. If only I was the one who was there for her to hug as she said thank you.

"Mukhang interesting ang pag-uusapan niyo. I can see how your face lights up just by talking about your daughter. Sige na, alam kong excited kanang malaman ang sasabihin ni Trixie. Balitaan mo ako tungkol sa apo ko ah? And please send me the video of her singing. Hindi mo parin na send yun."
