Every thing started right after the "beast fang outbreak" back in 2045. A scientist in Russia decided to attempt to be the first person to "shape shift" but it didn't go as planned. He created a formula that would "bring out" the inner beast inside of whom ever drank it; at first the experiment was going great until his wife walked into the room and noticed a small lion cub on the floor and decided to pick it up; when she did it bit her, and instead of bleeding, she turned into a small mouse and ran off. A week later the virus nicknamed "the beast fang" was all over the world, everyone was turning into different types of animals and creatures; but then when I finally got infected, I realized very shortly after that I was the only person who could shift into a wolf. I decided to hide the fact that I was abnormal and just went on with my life..... after the school system was updated that is. The new system was just like the old one but with a few more rules, for example: "you are not allowed to shift on school grounds" and "if you are caught shifting the police will be called and you will be expelled" and stuff like that. None of the new rules mattered to anyone though, not even the principal cared. Almost everyone walked around as a beast and nobody really cares; I'm almost always surrounded by bears, ferrets, hawks, and lions except for three people....... my friends. We are the only people in our school that doesn't let anyone see our beast forms but we all know each other's, for example: James can shift into a stag, Chris can shift into a silver back gorilla, and Luke can shift into a horse. We are all unlike many others, there's only seven people who can shift into a horse or a gorilla, and only three who can shift into a stag. We met each other in class one day and started talking about our beast forms and we have been friends ever since.
"Hey, do you guys wanna go hang out later?" Asked James
"Why not" me and the others agreed
"Awesome, lets meet up at the witches gate"
We all shook our heads in agreement as we did our secret handshake and took off to get ready. I arrived home fifteen minutes after and got ready to go. After I grabbed a quick snack I took off through the woods to get to the witches gate; and as usual I showed up late.
"Slowest tall person I ever met" joked Chris.
"At least I don't have to use a map to find the place we go like every other day" I retorted.
"Both of you shut up" said James.
"Let's just hurry up and get to the spot" said Luke
"Fine let's go" I said as I jumped over the gate and started walking along our path.
"Remember, as soon as we're out of sight we shift and race" said James.
We all shook our heads in agreement as we rounded a corner and got ready to shift.
"Get ready to lose" I said as I shifted.
"Not this time" said Luke as he shifted.
"You don't stand a chance" said James in mid shift.
"You all suck, I'm the slowest thing here" said Chris right before he shifted.
Luke whinnied as to say go and we all took off running at full speed.
