House of Cards

Your house of cards

on sandy ground

the slightest wind

sends tumbling down

and life won’t wait

for you to make

your house of cards again

The trees may creak

the grass may yield

yet springs back up

already healed

your house of cards

by breath of wind

condemned to tumble down

The mountain stones

the stormy seas

will take no notice

of the breeze

the house of cards

has no last hopes

it’s fallen to the ground

That house of cards

on sandy ground

it cries for help

as winds abound

the wails echo

on the gale

the house of cards is gone

A house of cards

that is no more

the sands had flown

the grains would soar

the barren earth

that still remained

held echoes of the storm

The house of cards

had gone away

the stormy sands

had flown astray

the earth held silent

stones released

the echoes of the storm

Your house of cards

on sandy ground

the slightest wind

sends tumbling down

your life won’t wait

for you to make

your house of cards again.
