Senior year is my year to shine, my year to finally live a little. My boyfriend, Jordan Connor, is the popular guy that parties every weekend and plays every sport known to man. And I'm an average girl with an average name, Jade Wickens, I don't party and I don't play sports. A match made in heaven, right?
Despite the odds being against us, we've been together since the beginning of year 10, his best friend Cole Sprouse introduced us. He's a bit of a weirdo in my opinion, doesn't talk much and listens to that weird "edgy" music. It's also rare to see him without a cigarette, quite the charmer if you ask me! (I'm a bit sarcastic.)
I've always liked to focus more on my studies than my social life and parties, I enjoy being top of the class but I'm in no way nerdy. My long blonde hair and blue eyes make me appear even more average, I kind of just blend into the crowd, I'm not someone that you'd really notice I guess.
It's school holidays and I'm determined to live a little more this year, get out and party. It all starts tonight as Jordan is throwing a huge summer pool party to celebrate being seniors, he promises I'll have fun and be completely fine, but I'll be the judge of that!
I rock up at 8pm in my black skinny jeans, black heels, red shirt and with my red bikini on under that. My hair is in 2 French braids and I have a small amount of waterproof makeup on. I arrive with my two best friends, Ava and Jane, we've been friends since kindy and can pretty much guarantee if one of us is somewhere, the other two aren't far behind.
"Daaamn my girlfriend is hot!" Jordan yells over the music, a few heads turn to look at us as I smile and blush, making my way over to him. We quickly kiss as I swat his chest for embarrassing me, he wears a big, cheeky grin that I am so entirely in love with. Cole flashes me a quick smile and hands me a beer before walking away from Jordan. He never hangs around if I'm there, I don't know what his problem is.
I make my way around, greet people and laugh as they tell me how surprising it is to finally see me at a party having fun and letting loose, I will admit it feels good. For the most part I'm glued to Jordan's side; he's only wearing board shorts and holding a beer everywhere he is. A few hours' in I find Ava, Jane and myself being thrown into the pool by Jordan, Cole and Jack (Ava's boyfriend). We're all shrieking and fighting back as much as we can, but we all know that's not going to work.
After being thrown, they jump in and others start to join until the pool is overflowing with intoxicated teens, everyone is smiling and having a good time, everyone except Cole.
"Hey, how's your night going?" I ask with a smile.
Cole rolls his eyes and asks "where's Jordan? Shouldn't you be with him?" and takes a drag from his cigarette, blowing it into my face.
"What have I done? Why are you always so rude to me?"
Instead of answering my question he huffs, puts out the smoke and walks away.
I sit there for a bit longer, trying to work out what just happened, Jane comes over laughing and tells me all about how drunk she is and that we should probably head home soon because it's getting late. I remind her that I'm staying the night and she pouts. She hates being the only single one, but she's very fussy when it comes to girls she wants to date, no one is exciting enough for her.
By 3am everyone is finally gone and it's just me and Jordan...and Cole. We're all pretty drunk and Cole seems to be finally having fun, laughing at the most random things. The boys are sitting on the couch and I'm still just dancing to the music that softly plays in the background, I couldn't care who sees me or how badly I'm dancing. They both watch me carefully, Jordan smiles in a way that I can see how much he loves me. The song changes to "I love you I love you, it's disgusting" by Broadside, Cole and I make eye contact before Jordan comes and picks me up to go to bed.
There was a certain look in his eyes that I can't get over, something I've never seen before, he looked happy for once, with a small smirk on his face,
Jordan slaps my ass, stumbling his way to his bedroom where we've spent many nights before, but never drunk. I giggle the whole time, as if I've never been in his room before, as if we've never touched before and I'm suddenly nervous.
He lays me down on the bed, removing my wet clothes, kissing me when he can. He smirks as he pulls away and hands me some of his dry clothes and heads to the shower. Fuck he's a tease...
