A/N: okay so I just really ship colino'donoghue and jennifer morrison (hook and emma on ouat) and i had a random idea for a one-shot and i just really have to post it okay.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Jennifer's POV (told from her POV the whole story fyi)
"Crap, why isn't this car starting?!" I say, frustrated, as I, once again, turn the keys in the ignition.
"Pretty sure the battery's dead," Colin says, turning his head and looking over at the keys in the ignition.
"Yeah..." I say as I open the car door and step out. "Oh god. It's pouring. What are we gonna do?"
"What else can we do? We'll have to walk...."
"I'll get an umbrella," I say as I walk out of the garage, into the house. I grab a big, black umbrella out of the umbrella stand sitting by the door.
My god, weather, you couldn't keep your crap together for five minutes? Now we're going to be late to set, and everyone is going to tease us and be all 'ooh, what were you two doing that caused you to be late?' and I'm going to blush and today is going to suck, I think as I walk back out the door.
"Let's go," I say as I open the garage door.
We walk out of the garage, and Colin opens the umbrella.
"Ow!" I say as my face is struck by an opening umbrella.
"Oh my god, are you okay?" Colin says, touching my now red cheek (that is growing redder by the second).
"I'm fine," I say, laughing.
"You sure? Your face is getting redder by the second..." he says. That only makes me laugh harder.
"I'm okay. That felt really weird, though."
"Do it to me, I want to see how badly it hurts," Colin says.
"Okay..." I say to Colin, laughing.
I release the umbrella on Colin, a little harder than he did to me.
"Oh dear god," he says, laughing.
"What?"
"The pointy part poked me in the nose."
I cover my mouth with my hand. "Sorry!"
"It's fine," he says, laughing and checking his nose for blood.
We don't even pay attention to the fact that we're soaked, we just talk and laugh until-
"Oh god!" Colin says as he is thrown forward by the crack in the sidewalk that his shoe had caught in.
"Colin!" My arms automatically fly out and wrap around him, catching him right before he touches the ground, where cars are whizzing by. His arms wrap around my waist for security. I make a valiant attempt not to burst into flames. This is the first time we've been this close, when we're not in character. I worry that he can hear my heart hammering inside my chest, which is pressed up right against his. I worry that the whole city can hear it.
"Usually in movies this happens the other way around," he says, smirking.
I just smile and shake my head. Casual. Act casual. He regains his footing, and stands up. But he is still holding me. His arms, the best security I could ever wish for, are wrapped tightly around my waist. My arms wrap loosely around his neck. His eyes are the color of the waters of the Carribean, or any tropical place, really. Clear, pure, and a heartbreakingly beautiful blue. His slightly tan face, right up close to my pale one.
