My "Second" Family

The Beginning of it all

M-mom? I said, slowly and carefully leaving my room. I could hear her crying in their bedroom. I walked in to find her bloody and bruised, sobbing in her floor. "Kenzi, go back to bed sweetie." She said whincing as she spoke. I walked to her and helped her up from the floor letting her sit in her bed. I walked into her bathroom and found the first-aid kit. I cleaned her up and took care of her small but painful wounds. She looked at me and pulled me close, crying on my shoulder. We heard the front door slam open. "YOU STUPID BITCH!!" my step dad screamed. I looked at my mom and she gave me the look to run. I quickly took off to calm my two little sisters down. "Shhhh, ehhh it'll be over soon. Daddy's just having a bipolar episode." I said as we huddled on their bed. The next morning I awoke to the sound of my second sister, Lyrica, packing. "Where are you going, little miss?" I asked through a yawn. "Mommy said I could stay with Toni tonight.' She replied without even turning to look at me. " Hmm, well its basically my last night I have till peach week so, I'm going to stay with someone too." I picked up my phone and got on Facebook going through my friends list. I needed new friends, my last two both backstabbed me and my best friend lives an hour away. I saw one girl that I knew was pretty cool, I mean we have a lot in common we just never really hung out. Oh well, let's give this a shot

-Hey, I know we always talked about hanging out and all. I'm free tonight and need to get out of this house. Can I stay with you? ~Kenzi

-Yeah, sounds like a plan. My brothers going to be out tonight anyways so mom says its fine. See you around 5? ~Jasmine

- Sounds good, see you then. ~Kenzi

"Mom, I'm staying with a friend. I'll show you how to get to her house, just give me a ride?" I yelled. "Okay."

I packed my bag and got in the car waiting on my mom to hurry her, usual, slow self up. After 15 minutes mom finally came out and I headed off to Jasmine's house.
