It was when I first woke up in the hospital, that I realized I was damaged and lost the three things I loved the most swimming, trust, and the ability to speak my mind. " Hey baby girl. How are you feeling," my father asked. I was gonna reply, but when I went to talk I couldn't make a sound. This made me so upset I burst into tears and started banging my head and punching the bed. "Doc, help my River needs help. What is wrong with her?"
"I don't know for sure, Mr. Delaney. However, it may be a result of whatever happened that put her in the hospital. River here is a paper and pencil I have some questions and I need you to be honest."
Ok.
"Why were you in the River?
I don't know. There was a party by the river though to celebrate the end of swim season though.
"Did someone do this to you? If so, why?"
I don't know.
"Okay River that will be all," said the doctor as he left.
"River, darling, do you wanna go swimming after we leave?" I have never said no to swimming. However, when he asked that question I panicked and started to be hysterical, so my father said that we will just go home.
...
3 weeks later
"River sweety, I think we should move. I was hoping you would get better, but you haven't left the house since the incident, so I'm sending you a couple towns over to live with your aunt. You will also be going to school again"
Okay, I wrote.
