"Ok remember Allie, if you need anything you can call me at anytime. Just press 1."

I showed her the number on the phone for at least the thousandth time. I knew it wasn't right for me to leave my two year old daughter at home while I was at work, but I had too. I knew she had the intelligence.

"Yes mommy. I know." she giggled and took the phone from my hands and put it in her purse that I had made for her. I had knit it with a lilac color string and she slung it over her shoulders every day. She called it her sackey; it always made me smile. She kept the cell phone I had got for her in it, her little mirror, pink lip gloss, and she held onto her fluffy white rabbit she called RiRi. I gave her a peck on the forehead and a quick hug and said once more,

"Ok Allie, call me if anything happens, or if you're scared. I will come right home. Make sure to not turn on the oven, and I made you a turkey, lettuce, and cheese sandwich and it's in the fridge. You can have a juice box with it. Then, call me right afterwards and I will let you have a cookie. You can watch PBS, Cartoon Network, or Disney Channel. Please do not open the door for anyone. Keep it locked at all times and stay inside. I love you."

She smiled and nodded and gave me one more hug.

I slowly walked out the door, waving to her.

I got into my White Mustang and drove to work.

I worked at small coffee shop. I know it didn't give much pay but my parents somewhat helped me with paying rent. Allie and I lived in a small apartment, because that was all I could afford. When I told my parents about me being pregnant with Allie, they said it would be best if I stayed in an apartment. So, they got me one that was very small. It had only two bedrooms, a bathroom, a small kitchen, and a small living room. I was glad that my parents decided to buy me a washer and dryer because it would suck if I had to go to the Laundromat every other day to wash my clothes and Allie's.

When I got to Freddy's Café, the small coffee shop, I went to the back to put my light blue apron on and got to work.

"Hey Kass, how's little Allie doing?" I heard Lola say.

Lola was my best friend, she was half Latino, and had long wavy black hair with chocolate brown eyes; she was petite, I, on the other hand had long blonde hair, with minty green eyes, I had good curves in the right places, but I was somewhat short.

"She's doing great Lola, how are you and Danny." I said Danny's name romantically and rolled my eyes. Lola was totally in love with him.

She giggled, "Oh just great, he's taking me to nice restaurant tonight." She clapped her hands together and spun in a circle.

I laughed, "OMG, we have to go shopping and get you a nice dress!" I jumped up and down.

She clapped her hands together excitedly, "OMG totally! At the end of our shift we should go!"

I nodded and smiled. She also smiled.

"Alright girls, enough of your 'OMG SHOPPING' shit. Get to work!" Freddy the owner shouted.

Lola and I immediately got to work, brewing up some decaf and regular coffee, and filling a small bowl with sugar.

The rest of the day went by normally. Except at half past noon, my phone rang. I immediately picked it up, hoping Allie was alright.

"Sweetie, are you ok? Mommy can come home right now, what's wrong?" I spoke fast.

"Um..." A guy said.

My eyes opened in shock, and pure fright.

"WHO THE HELL ARE YOU. DON'T TOUCH MY BABY PLEASE DON'T." I could feel the tears ready to spill out, Lola came over and gave me a curious expression.

"Whoa Whoa, calm down, I'm not going to do anything..." He said.

"Mommy! Greggy came over cause I was crying so he made me feel better! We played with play dough together!!! He's funny!" Allie was saying, my tears stopped and I smiled.

"See, I wouldn't do anything to hurt her, she's too adorable. I'm sorry I didn't say anything; I'm Gregg by the way, your neighbor, or whatever. Sorry if I scared you..."

"No, No, I'm sorry... for assuming... I can come home and handle her, my shift is almost over." I bit my lip.

"I can take care of her until your shift is over... it's ok, she's cute." I could hear the smile in his voice.

"Um ok... are you sure?" I said and bit my lip again.

"Yes, don't worry. Oh and she wants me to ask you if she could have a cookie..." He said and chuckled. His voice was deep and husky, very sexy.

"Yea, Just one though. You can eat whatever you want. I'm coming back in 30 minutes so... yea."

"Ok, see you then." He said and hung up.

"Who was that?" Lola asked. I slumped and sighed. I told her what happened and she nodded.

"You should just go now. I'll cover for you and I'll tell Freddy." She pushed me slightly towards the front door handing me my bag, and taking off my apron.

"Ok..." I whispered and walked out towards my car. This was definitely going to be different.

I hope he was sexy, like his voice. I mentally slapped myself. Why was I thinking like that?

I quickly started the car and drove towards my apartment.
