As the bus comes to a halt, I check my watch. It's almost 3:50. I have 10 minutes. I shoot down the steps of the bus, and start to bolt for my house. When I get home I go straight for my room, quickly shouting a greeting to my mother, wherever she is in the household. Once again, I check the time. 3:58. Perfect, right on time. I open my laptop and send him a message.

"I'll see ya later bro," I say smiling as I walk out to my car. Before I start it up, I check my phone. 4 texts and 1 missed call. As I'm about to unlock my phone I notice the time. Shit. I'm late. I start the car and rush home.

After grabbing a snack from the kitchen, I return to my desk. I expect he has answered by now, but when I look he hasn't even read the message yet. I try to abstain myself from thinking bad thoughts and becoming hysterical. So I decide to engross my attention to re-reading Game of Thrones. Yeah, I'm a bit of a nerd.

When I get through the door, my little brother tries to wrestle with me. "Not now, I have things to do," I say pushing him off of me. "Like what, talk to your girlfriend?" he mocks. "She's not.. shut up," I say hesitantly. We aren't dating, I mean I'm not gonna take my laptop to the movies, but she's my girlfriend. I don't know, online relationships are complicated.

My laptop makes a "ping" sound, and I immediately set my book down. My fingers hover over the various letters as my eyes fixate on his message.
