A/N: Oh god, is this really happening? Here I am, writing my very first fanfic for Wattpad... This isn't going to go very well is it? Never mind... Hiya! If you're reading this then, thanks and welcome! If you're not, then you won't get a welcome, will you so so there! :P BTW, I know this is short but if you liked it then please give it a star-thingy (no idea what they're called) and leave me a comment and I will continue to update. Goodbye, lovely reader people! :) Hope thou enjoyeth my humble tale of love and woe (but not so much woe, really...)
Diary of a Youtube fail: Chapter 1
"Okay, here goes absolutely nothing at all..." I muttered as I re-adjusted the camera in front of me for what seemed like at least the thousandth time. I'd set up a Youtube account a long time ago and I'd always planned to make videos and upload them to it but never had the 'oomph' to get started. But, this year, for my birthday, my aunt had forked out over £200 for a state-of-the-art camera and that was all the 'oomph' I needed, I suppose, because here I am, 21 years old, living all alone in a crappy flat in London and about to film a Youtube video for the very first time.
Nervously, I checked my own reflection in the flip-screen. "Not bad, Freegard, not bad at all..." I watched myself say with a grin. I'd never been the most confident person ever; I hate attention and can't deal with compliments at all. 'However,' I thought with a half-smile, 'I don't look too bad today.' I re-adjusted the black Muse tee I was wearing and fidgeted around in my matching skinny jeans before sighing and pressing 'Record'.
(So, dear reader, you must be wondering who on earth I am, why I'm important in this 'story' (I call it that because, well, this is just my diary) and what kind of Youtube videos I planned to make. Well, I can answer those questions easily, since they're about moi *winks*. I'm Tayla Freegard (weird name, I know), a 21-year-old nobody fangirl from England, I'm important in this story because it is about me and I'm a beauty guru with no confidence... Na, just joking! I planned to make funny little vlogs and skits because there sure ain't enough of those online... (Sarcasm, my dear reader, the interweb space is chock full of us.) Kinda like Grace Helbig, Danisnotonfire etc.)
So, now that you know who I am, can I continue? Thank you. I pressed 'Record' and sprang into life. I found myself naturally giving the camera a genuine smile and my voice went up at least one octave as I switched into 'Youtuber mode'. By no means was I a Youtuber then, I mean, this was my first video and I wasn't expecting anyone to watch! But there seems to be a confident, zany girl inside of me that can only leap out on camera... who knew? "Hiya there Youtube, pleased to meet you!" I exclaimed, sticking out my hand to the camera as if I expected the lifeless black object to shake it. When it didn't (obviously), I shook my own hand and giggled at how lonely and stupid I looked. "My name's Tayla and this is my channel 'IdeallyUnsubscribe'. You'll get why it's called that at the end." I grinned into the lens before pressing the 'Stop' button on my camera and sneezing loudly into my hands. Professional, right?
A/N: I know, again? But there it is. The Tayla character is loosely based of off a girl I know. Hope you like it because if you didn't then, damn. Way to build confidence... Just kidding! I love you for just bloody reading so thank you and bye,
