I wrapped my knotted hair around the wand curler, trying to keep my fingers from burning. I winced in pain as the tip of my pinky hit the top of the wand. I dropped the curler onto the table and rushed over to my mini fridge, quickly grabbing a piece of ice. The freezing surface instantly soothed the irritated burn and after a couple of minutes I dumped the half melted cube into the trash and continued curling my hair. Once I was finished I tousled it a bit, to make it look messier and as if I put less effort into it.

I looked into the mirror, a small square fold out one lying in the corner of my desk, and applied a touch of makeup. It was just coffee, but I wanted to look good. After throwing on a gray t-shirt and some white shorts I grabbed my purse and headed out of my dorm.

I had texted Will first, I know, but I really wanted to schedule an official date, and he didn't seem that interested in me, but I was still intrigued by him. Once he finally replied and we schedule a time and plan, I finally felt satisfied. He seemed so different, so perfect, it was almost like he was fake.

The coffee shop was right across from my dorm, so I simply crossed the road and I was there. As I entered the shop the aroma of coffee beans and chocolate hit my nose, and I inhaled the sweet delicous smell. I looked around and found Will sitting in the corner reading a magazine. Was that a TigerBeat magazine? Why the hell was he reading that? Confused but still intrigued I made my over to him, accidentally bumping into people as I did.

"Will hi!" I exclaimed a bit too excited." he jolted up, throwing the magazine to the side and staring at me with big fearful eyes.

"Are you ok?" I asked, his fear staring straight at me.

"Ya um, I'm fine, I just um, I was um, waiting for you." he stuttered, a bit discombobulated. We order a coffee and sat down, just making simple small talk. It wasn't insanely interesting, but I got to know more about him, his hometown, his family, his friends, his interests. He was funny too, and his smile practically lit up the room. He had intrigued me from the start, something about him was just a little off, and I had wanted to know more and now I finally had, but I just didn't feel complete. Here I was, finally knowing more about Mystery Man, and something still didn't feel right.
