You toss and turn in your bed. You look towards your window and see that the finest thread of sunlight has already begun to shine into your bedroom. Your alarm won't go off for another couple of hours. Unfortunately, it's been a restless night for you. If only I had never eaten that big ol' stupid burrito last night, you think to yourself.
You resolve to get some fresh air to try and wake yourself up a bit, as well as get rid of the restlessness that kept you up for a majority of the night. You stretch, causing your limbs to shake, before you lazily lift yourself off of your bed. You yawn as you groggily head towards the front door. Still in your pajamas, you slip on your shoes and head outside.
After locking the door behind you, you allow yourself to feel the cool air of the early morning brushing against your skin and flowing through your hair. You take in a deep breath and let out a satisfied vocal sigh. You're starting to feel better already.
Starting off on your walk, you go down a path that you're familiar with. It leads into the nearby woods and ends at a playground not too far after. You usually jog on this path, but you decide that it would be best to take it easy for now. After all, now you're able to take in more of your surroundings as you relaxedly stroll past the magnificent, towering trees that point to the endless blue sky, and hear the birds chirping in them.
The sun continues to slowly creek open the door of the horizon, peeking its head in to gaze upon the world below it. Its warm rays begin to take effect on the cool air, wrapping a soft blanket of warmth around you. You space out; everything seems to be but in a dream.
Suddenly, something glints at the corner of your eye. You freeze as you snap back to reality. You turn in the direction from which it came, moving back and forth trying to find the right spot at which you caught a glimpse of it.
There!
You quickly start heading towards the object that caught your eye. It's only a few moments before you come across the huge, broken pieces of some sort of metal pod. Astonished, you gingerly step your way around it and survey the scene. There's still some smoke rising from the scraps of metal. There seem to be some strange devices on the inner parts of the pod, but you don't seem to recognize any of them.
It is then that another gleam hits your eye. It's coming from the middle of the wreckage. You carefully tiptoe over the sharp material of the pod and squat to the ground. You see a half-buried object sticking out of it. Hastily digging it up and brushing it off, you realize that the object you found is actually some kind of gem. It is of rectangular shape with precise cuts at the edges, and it shimmers blue in the sunlight.
You gaze at it for a few moments, but then slowly come back to your senses and widen your eyes as you realize the situation you seem to be in right now.
Wh-what the hell? How did this all get here? This is all so unreal! Is this some sort of government aircraft? Is it even legal for me to be messing with it like this?! Does this gem belong to them? Oh my God, I must look like I'm stealing it! There must be some hidden government camera watching me right now! They're going to put me in jail for the rest of my life!
God dammit, Y/N! Get yourself together! Just leave everything as you found it, and you'll get out of this just fine.
But just as you finish thinking this to yourself, you hear someone coming up the path nearby. Panicking, you yelp and run off, gem still in hand.
A/N My family and I are on a long drive back home from vacation rn, so I had plenty of spare time to work on this (among other things)!
