After school, Elliot took me home real quick because I had to grab the gift I got home. When I was about to run out of the front door to get back to Elliot's car, the house phone started to ring. I quickly ran to the phone and answered it.
"Cragen residence. Olivia speaking." I sighed.
"Olivia, I need help." Cynthia whispered into the phone.
"Cynthia? What's wrong?" I questioned, as I heard Elliot beep his horn just to be a dick.
"It's my foster dad. He's doing stuff and I can't get him to stop..." She trailed off, as I heard screaming coming from her end of the call.
"Okay, what's the address?" I questioned, as I quickly grabbed a pad of paper and a pen.
"Don't come over, please. I don't want you to get hurt." She sniffled.
"My Dad is a cop. He can help you. I just need the address."
[*]
Elliot drove towards my father's precinct, as I anxiously smoothed my skirt.
"She's gonna be okay, right?" Elliot asked, and I shrugged.
"I have no idea. I just need to talk to my Dad, and everything else will just have to work out." I replied.
"We can cancel our date, Liv. I know-"
"No, El. We can't do anything because we are just teenagers. I just need to report this to my father, and then we can go on our date. Maybe we could just cut it short a bit."
"Okay."
Elliot parked his car a few minutes later, and I went running up the stairs as soon as I was out of the car. I made it to the elevator and took it to his floor, before running into the squad room.
"Dad!" I exclaimed, and my father turned around from where he was pouring coffee into his cup.
"Liv? What are you doing here?" He mused, and I quickly handed him the piece of paper.
"My friend Cynthia is a foster child. She gave me her address, because her foster father is doing things and she said she can't stop him. I need you to help her Dad." I breathed, and he looked at the paper.
"Liv-"
"Dad, please. I'm begging you. Help her and all of the other kids in that house. Please." I begged, and he quickly kissed my forehead before walking over to Munch.
"Come on. We have to check out a foster home. Get your gun."

Even though Elliot and I wanted to enjoy our anniversary dinner, we didn't. We were both worried about Cynthia, even if we didn't really know her. So after we barely ate our dinner, Elliot and I sat in his car for awhile as we exchanged gifts. We wanted privacy, and something to distract us.
"Here." I smiled, as I handed my boyfriend a box that I wrapped but with only a bow.
"Liv-"
"Nope, don't start. I love you, and I wanted to get you this. So open your gift." I smiled, and he laughed. He leaned forward and ran his hand through my hair as he kissed me for a moment, before he leaned back and started to take the bow off the box.
"I swear Olivia, if this is expensive I'm going to be pissed." He huffed, and I groaned.
"You have did this every time I get you something! Just accept it!" I exclaimed, and he laughed.
He smiled as he pulled the watch from the box, before slipping it onto his wrist.
"I love it, Liv." He breathed, before leaning forward and pressing his lips against mine once again. I hugged him after our lips parted, before sighing.
I had a lot on my mind, minus the Cynthia thing.
"You might be disappointed." Elliot spoke, as he handed me a small velvet box.
"Why would I be disappointed?" I questioned.
"Because it's small... but I want to be able to give you an amazing engagement ring when we are ready."
I opened the box and felt tears well in my eyes. Elliot had been talking to me about rings a lot lately, and he had even asked to borrow one of my rings. Now I knew why. He needed to get my ring size, and see what I like, and he did it. The promise ring was perfect.
"I love it so much, El." I spoke, before leaning over and hugging him tightly. He breathed deeply for a moment, before biting his lip and settling back into his seat.
"El?" I questioned, and he swallowed hard.
"Are you ready?" He questioned, and I looked down at the box for a moment, before nodding timidly.
"I think so..."

When Elliot pulled up to my house, I climbed out slowly before walking around to his side of the car. I leaned in and kissed him gently, but didn't say anything. I turned and walked up the path to my house, and as the front door opened, my mother looked at me.
"Liv, we need to talk." She spoke, and my eyes went wide.
"Okay?" I questioned.
My mother and I sat on the front steps, and she sighed.
"Your friend Cynthia is inside." She spoke, and I quickly looked over at her.
"She is?" I questioned, and my mother nodded.
"Yeah, she was placed with us because of what happened at her other foster home." She spoke, and I swallowed hard.
"What happened?" I questioned, and she frowned as she wrapped her arm around my shoulders and pulled me close.
"He was hurting the kids, all of them. But thanks to you, they are all safe now. Sweetie, I'm so proud of how caring you are."
"Are you going to save her like you did me?" I asked, and she shrugged.
"We don't know yet, love. Your father and I just want to make sure she is getting everything she wants. So maybe let her borrow some of your clothes and put the mattress in your room on the trundle bed." She spoke, and I nodded. I looked over my shoulder at the door before sighing.
"Thanks." I whispered.

Cynthia couldn't sleep that night, and I couldn't either. So eventually I turned on my lamp and we started to talk.
"So you and Elliot are dating? How long?" She questioned, and I rolled over onto my side and sighed.
"Two years to the day. We met and kinda had some issues as friends, but eventually everything just fell into place." I spoke, and she smiled.
"I wish I had someone who looked at me, the way that Elliot looks at you." She sighed, as she ran her hands through her short brown hair.
"He may look more in love looking at food then when he looks at me." I laughed, and she smiled.
"Why can't you sleep?" She mused.
"Just feeling a little awkward about my date..." I trailed off.
"Yeah?" She questioned, and I nodded.
"Yeah..."
