The truth (Loki and Avengers)

The battle (Chapter 7)

NATASHA'S POV

Loki was standing. His previous injuries, gone. His green eyes were an icy blue. Thanos had him under his control, again.

"I will not fight my brother!" Thor yelled.

"You said you would fight one of my children to get your brother back. Loki is one of my children." Thanos grinned. The Avengers and Guardians attempted to get up but could not move.

"Monster!"I repeated. I wanted to kill Thanos. I never imagined I would want to protect Loki. The man took over my partner and killed thousands of innocent lives. But now that I knew what Loki had gone through he reminded me of myself. We both had horrific childhoods, we both felt like we had no purpose, and we both felt inferior.

THIRD PERSON POV

          "Silence." Thanos snapped. "Let the battle begin!"

           Loki and Thor circled the arena. "Brother, please." Thor begged. Loki couldn't hear him. Loki was reliving his worst memories while Thanos took over his body. Loki was a puppet and he didn't even know it. Loki just thought he was on Thanos' ship and was being tortured. He launched himself at Thor with Thor barely moving in time. Loki was throwing punches and kicks at Thor. Thor dodged them but Loki was very quick. Loki and Thor were both incredible fighters but their styles were different. Thor relied on brute strength while Loki used his speed and agility.

          "Please!! Look at me! I'm your brother! We would both die to save one another! You died to save me! Twice! I need you!" Thor pleaded but Thanos' control was to strong. Loki ran to Thor but was stopped by Thor's hammer. Thor hit Loki on the side of his face with his hammer. Instead of Loki launching to the side, like everyone has expected. Loki's head moved to the right but his body didn't move. He turned his head, cracked his jaw, and smiled an evil smile at Thor. Loki punched Thor causing him to launch backwards. Loki could withstand a blow from Thor's hammer and Thor couldn't withstand a punch.

           Loki and Thor fought each other for a very long time. Each one would get several blows but would be matched with several blows by their opponent. At one point Natasha had tried to get Bruce angry but instead of the hulk coming out, Bruce just gave her the silent treatment. When Natasha looked up Thor was kneeling on the ground and Loki was about to launch himself at Thor and kill him. Loki jumped in the air towards Thor. The Avengers and Guardians held their breathe and looked away. Thor screamed. Everyone's eyes were glued to the ground, tears spilling down their faces. The area surrounding them slowly turned back to normal but no one dared to look up.

          "I'm so sorry!" Thor yelled. Everyone's heads shot up. Loki's body was lying on the ground with a dagger in his stomach. Loki's body slowly turned blue and engravings slowly showed in his skin. "You left me no choice! Please. You have come back before, you can come back again!" Thor cried over his brothers body. Coulson rushed over to Loki and checked his pulse. Coulson's face dropped and he hung his head.

          "Thor, he's gone. I'm so sorry." Coulson stared. Coulson was killed by Loki but he has forgiven him as soon as he learned the truth. Everyone's head hung in shame. They had beaten and accused an innocent man who was being controlled by a mad titan, and had already had a horrific life.

          "You killed me." A voice whispered.
