"are you going down for lunch?" a voice woke me up from my trance as i looked up to see soyeon. i rubbed my eyes and stretched out my arms. oh gosh, i had slept through the whole of history. i was feeling slightly more energised, slightly.

"yeah," i reply as i stood up, she hooked her arms with mine as she dragged me away from my seat.

we went down to the cafeteria with a couple of my other classmates, whom me and soyeon always go down to have lunch together with. they were a nice bunch of friends, although we weren't exactly the closest of friends but we still hung out together in school.

"soo i heard... something about you and donghan..." mirae, one of my classmate, says as we walked down the corridors side my side. i immediately felt my cheeks heat up.

"what?" i spoke, trying to seem as calm as possible.

"yah, there's rumours that you two are like secretly dating," sarang, another of my classmate, turned back and chuckle.

"heck no, we're just neighbours. we barely talk to each other, what more dating?" i say, hoping to brush that idea off them. i felt awkward and slightly uncomfortable as i was trying to take this whole situation as a joke. i've never been the topic of discussions amongst my friends before.

"okay but donghan is.. i mean his handsome and all, don't you feel anything when you're with him?" soyeon smirks as she nudged my arm and i turned and shot her a soft glare.

"no what the hell, i don't fall for guys because of their looks," i reply and soyeon just raised her eyebrows and nodded, looking unconvinced at my response.

thankfully, the topic then changed to our elementary math test that we had earlier today.

when we reached the cafeteria, we queued up to get out lunch trays before heading to the usual table that we all normally sat at.

after collecting my food, i walked to the table where some of my friends had already sat down. i placed my tray down and before i could sit down, i felt a tug at the ends of my ponytails. i turned back and came face to face with donghan who was grinning at me. i scoffed and lifted my arm to smack him he dodged it and chuckled before running to catch up with his friends who were walking ahead.

i frowned at his back and turned back to sit down, only to see my friends exchanging glances and looking at me with smirks plastered on their faces. urgh.

i avoided their looks and dug in on my food quickly.

"i think... he likes you," sarang suddenly says, causing me to look up and almost choked on the mouthful of rice which was in my mouth.

i coughed several times and soyeon, who was beside me patted on my back quickly.

"n..no. don't be ridiculous," i say after swallowing down the rice.

"i've never seen donghan so affectionate around girls before. despite his looks he only dated once, once! he never shows interest in girls and i swear he was flirting with you just now," sarang says like she was some sort of love detective.

i blush. flirting?

"he wasn't flirting.. i mean he was just fooling around and being annoying," i quickly say, hoping they would stop with talking about me and donghan.

"mhm, that's what it seems. just wait, i bet you would start feeling your heart race when he 'annoys' you like that," chaeyeon, another of my classmate, says as she chewed on her food.

"yeah yeah whatever, they day would never come," i say as i slurped on my soup.

but deep down, i felt uncomfortable. as if i was lying to myself. was i?
