Keith's POV

Keith stared out of the window of the driving car he sat in.

He clutched the bracelet he had gotten from his parents when he was very young in his right hand. He was moving into another foster home. Again. His last foster parents had been really pissed off when they had gotten a call from his school's principal, saying that he had picked a fight with a boy.

It was true. He had. But he had only done that, because the boy had made fun of his bracelet. and clothes. And parents.  Keith sighed quietly. He would never be able to finally rest, could he?

The black haired boy soon found himself being hugged by his new foster mother.

"Hello, Keith. I am Holly and this is my husband Tom. We hope you'll feel at home here.", she said and smiled kindly. He smiled back. Well...he tried to. Smiling had never been a thing he did often.

Tom stepped forward and shook Keith's hand. "Should I help you with your luggage?" Keith nodded. "Thank you." Tom laughed and patted him on the back. "No problem son."

After a week, Keith could say that he really liked this couple. They always were nice to him and he found it easy to talk to them.

On the day he was supposed to start at his new school, he woke up and walked downstairs into the kitchen, dressed in some black jeans (being held up by a belt) and a gray t-shirt.

"Morning, Keith."

He smiled at Holly.

"Good morning, mom." Holly's face lit up at him calling her that.

"You ready for school?", she asked him as she handed him his sandwich. Keith shrugged and put said thing into his backpack.

"I guess. I mean...moving and changing schools isn't exactly new for me, is it?", he muttered and Holly hugged him. He returned the hug.

"You know that we wouldn't get rid of you that fast, don'tcha?", she murmured into his hair. Keith smiled. "I know."

At school

"You know; If anything happens, call me, okay?", Tom asked. Keith nodded and waved after him as he left. Keith turned towards his new school and took a deep breath. 'Please, Keith. Please try to stay with this family.', he thought to himself.

He noticed the looks on him. The other students were looking at him and whispering to their friends. He just stared at the ground and made his way over to the secretary's office.

He knocked at the door and entered, making the secretary look up. "Ah!  You must be the new 10th grade students, eh?", the woman asked. Keith nodded.

"Okay, could you maybe fill these out?", she asked him and handed him some papers.

*time skip brought to you by the cinnamon roll named Hunk*

Keith hurried down the hall. His first class would start in 2 minutes and he didn't want to be late. He turned around a corner and his body came in contact with something rather big. "Oof!", he grunted as he fell to the ground.

"Oops! Sorry!", a guy said and helped him up. He was rather...chubby and huge with tan skin and green and yellow clothes on. "I'm Hunk.", the guy said and held out his hand. Keith nodded at him. "Keith.", he said and walked to class, leaving Hunk to frown after him.

In class

"Welcome class. Today we have the honor to welcome a new student into our class. Say hello to Keith Kogane.", the teacher, Mrs. Frude, said. Keith groaned inwardly and stood up. He hated introductions.

"Why don't you tell us a bit about yourself, Mr. Kogane."

"Well, I'm 16 years old and just moved here."  The teacher nodded. "You may sit down now"

11 a.m.

Keith sat down at an unoccupied table in the cafeteria and took out his sandwich. He was about to take a bite from it when five other students sat down at his table.

"Oh hello, Keith!", Hunk said, sitting down along with his four friends. Keith nodded at him.

"Keith? Are you new here? I don't think I've seen you here before...", a small brown haired girl with glasses on said. He put his sandwich down and sighed.

"Yea, I just moved here. Keith Kogane. And you are?"

"Katie Holt, but you can call me Pidge.", the girl nodded at him.

The next girl spoke up, a girl with white-silver hair and tan skin. " Allura Altea, nice to meet you", she said and shook his hand.

"Takashi Shirogane, but  call me Shiro.", a boy with dark hair that was white at the front said.

"And this is-", Pidge started.

"Lance McClain to your service, Keith Kogane.", the Cuban boy said with a wink. Keith blinked. (A/N: Ooooh, Keithy boy just found his gay!)

"So umm...", he cleared his throat. " I'm sorry for being so mean to you this morning, Hunk..."

The big boy waved him off. "It's fine. You were pissed, because I ran you over. It's understandable." Keith grinned at him.

"So, Keith.", Allura started, "Why did you move here?" Keith flinched. He hated that question.

"Um...I just moved in with my new foster parents..."

That shut the others up. "O-oh...I'm so sor-"

"It's fine! You didn't know.", Keith reassured her and tried to smile. He failed.

Before anyone could say something, the bell rang and they all stood up. Just as Keith started to walk away, Pidge grabbed him by the arm. "Wait!"

Keith turned around. "Friends?", Pidge asked and held out her hand. Keith saw her friends watching them. "Friends."

After school

He walked out of the entrance of the school and waved Tom. When he arrived at the car, Tom hugged him. "And? Did you make friends?" Keith smiled into his dad's shoulder. "Yea." Tom broke away from the hug and beamed at him. "I'm proud of you, son."

Keith smiled and hugged him one more time.

"So...I hope you like pancakes", Tom said and Keith laughed. "Who doesn't DUH."
