John hobbles down the stairs and I wait for him. We walk outside.
Sherlock's gone.
"He's gone." Donovan says. We turn to her. "Sherlock Holmes. He just took off. He does that." She says to me. "But take my advice; stay away from that guy. You'll thank me later."
I shake my head. "I think I'm staying."
"Don't say I didn't warn you." She says.
"Why do you want me away from him so bad?" I ask.
"Because one day, he's going to hurt you. You and him." She points to John.
"Thanks for the warning, but I think I'm staying." I say, and turn to John. "Do you know where to get a cab?"
He raises an eyebrow. "You've lived in London longer than me and even I know where to get a cab."
"I haven't been to this part of London before." I say as I walk beside John.
"Hm." He raises an eyebrow, and then the look fades away. "Yeah I know where to get one. Need to stop anywhere first?"
"Yeah." I say. "But I'm going to ride alone. If that's okay?"
"Of course." John says as a cab pulls up to him. "I'll get you a-"
"No, you go ahead and take that one." I say, hailing a cab. "I'm fine." I smile and climb into the cab. "See you later." I shut the door and direct the driver where to go.
Eventually, I get out. I need to walk. I need to know this part of London, because I feel as if I'm going to be back here again and need to know where to go.
Next to me, a telephone booth rings. I stop, look at it, and then continue walking after two rings when it stops ringing.
As I pass a shop, a phone right next to the window rings. I glance at it and after two rings it stops right when someone is about to pick it up. I walk by another telephone booth and it rings. I stop again, look at it, and after two rings it continues ringing. I walk inside the telephone booth and pick up.
"There's a security camera to your left do you see it?" I hear a man on the phone.
"Sorry, who is this?"
"Do you see it, Miss Harrison?"
I look up and to my left and see the security camera.
"Yes." I answer.
After a second, the camera swivels towards the street.
"There's a security camera to your right do you see it?" He says.
I look up and to my right and see it, it swivels to it's right.
"Yes." I repeat.
"And finally there's a security camera on the building to behind you and to your right again."
"How are you doing this?" I demand as I watch the camera swivel so it's facing straight ahead. "How do you know my name? Who are you?" I say into the phone.
"Get in the car, Miss Harrison." The man ignores me, and right after he speaks a small black car pulls up to the curb.
"I'm not getting in that car until you tell me something."
"Get in the car, Miss Harrison." The man says with slight impatience in his voice. "There, I've told you something."
"And what happens if I don't get into the car?"
"Then you would be jeopardizing yourself and the lives of the people closest to you. So I would suggest you get in the car."
I reluctantly hang up the phone, open the door of the car, and slide in, closing the door behind me. Next to me is a woman with auburn hair reaching a few inches past her shoulders. She never takes her eyes off her phone.
