Chapter 2

I stood in front of my room; the door was closed…were my roommates here yet or not? I couldn’t hear anything so I suppose I would be alone for a while, that’s good, I needed some time to myself.

“Well this is it; I’ll see you all in assembly?” Violet spoke from my side.

“Yup” I replied and entered my room.

There were already a girl there; once again my wish to be alone was demolished.

“Heyyyyy you must be Scar, sorry you don’t mind me saying Scar do you? Scarlett seems too long and I love nicknames” Says the girl sitting on the bed, she had red hair. Red????? I had never seen a person with red hair so this seemed to shock me in a way. I was too busy gawking at her I forgot to reply until she cleared her throat.

“Sorry and yeah you can call me Scar” I replied before I was embarrassed any further.

“I am Kate and Anna just unpacked and went to get something but I am sure she will be back soon.”

“Cool, I guess my bed is the one near the window?” I questioned.

“Yeah, we can change if you want I don’t mind” she replies.

“Nah its fine.”

I see my trunks next to my bed, that’s one good thing about today. I start unpacking and the door opens and a short brunette enters, who I presume is Anna.

“Hi you must be Scarlett I am Anna” she says in her loud voice and comes over and gives me a hug which startles me and the first impression I get of her is 'friendly'. Both my roommates seemed to be friendly.

Time passes as we all unpack and a sound comes from speakers “you all have 20 minutes and after that you must all be present in the main hall for assembly, thank you”

Since I was tired and not in the mood to stay here any longer I excused myself telling both, Kate and Anna that I would see them later. I walked out to Carissa’s room but before opening- I mean I would knock but that’s not my style. Just as I was about to put my hand on the door knob I heard Carissa’s sweet voice “you have no idea how happy I am that I’m sharing the room with you, I mean I love Scar but I am tired of her constant troubles, a new problem every day and” I didn’t want to hear any more, I couldn’t hear anymore… so I walked back to my room. Maybe she didn’t care, but why? I mean yeah I have problems, don’t we all? Doesn’t she want me to share mine with her? Don’t best friends do that? But whatever I guess, I needed to stop caring about her and make new friends or I have the other 3. Unless they all feel the same way, which I presume they do, I mean since my ‘best friend’ does why wouldn’t they? I shake the thoughts out of my mind and force a smile before entering my dorm room.

“I will just go with you guys, better to make new friends than sticking with old at times” I say and adding a wink so i didn’t sound desperate.

“That’s my motto” Kate replies before winking herself.

She must have understood what I meant while Anna just ignored.

“We better get to assembly, let’s not give a bad first impression”  Kate says before fixing her hair once again quickly in front of the long length mirror next to the toilet door and leaving the room. Anna followed in unison and so did I.  

The halls weren’t really crowded but we followed some people who I presume were not new since they seemed to know their way around. Entering the hall, the first thing I noticed was the large stage.

I went and sat next to Kate who had Anna on her other side; there were 2 empty chairs next to me. One part of me wished that Carissa comes and sits on the other side of me and the other part wished I don’t see her for the whole day.
