About two weeks passed and I haven't talked to Landon. I wasn't really surprised. He probably only spoke to me for amusement.
Truffle was Truffle. I was still me. Everyday was the same, except I felt weird.
I'd wake up, and force myself out of bed.
Get dressed.
Eat breakfast.
Check weather for the night whilst waiting for mom to get ready.
Get off the weather app and check Landon's instagram.
Get ride to school from mom.
Do school stuff at school.
Get ride home from mom or walk home.
Do homework and look at Landon's Instagram.
Lay around until dark to look at stars through telescope or go outside and lay down on trampoline and stare at the sky.Yeah. Everyday was like this now.
"Saw you at homecoming with Landon," I turned around and saw a girl, with two other girls behind her.
"Hi?" I asked.
"I'm Kath," Kath said. She pointed to a goth girl and a girl with mermaid hair. "That's Kassie, and Karen."
"Yeah, okay," I said, closing my locker. "I'm Emma and this is my locker."
"That's nice," Kassie said, rolling her eyes. "Anyways, Kath has a problem with you hanging out with Landon."
"He's my boyfriend," Kath said. "Well, soon to be boyfriend. We're tight."
"Okay," I said. "We were just talking, I don't like him like that."
"Uh, sure," Kath said. "His eyes were all over you, and not all over me." She stepped up to me.
"You think you're so high and mighty," Kath said. "Trying to steal my man." The fake essence suddenly disappeared. Her breath smelled like cherry chapstick.
"You know how badly I want to hurt you?" Kath asked. "I've never ever felt this way before. So I'd suggest you and your little fag of a friend Sebastian stay out of my way. Or you're going to get it."
She shoved me against my locker, and stepped back. Kath flung her hip out and snapped her fingers and smiled.
"Bye, Emmalyn," Kath said. "Come on girls." They walked away.
Finally, I could breathe. I sunk down a bit, breathing heavily. I turned to my locker and opened it. My eyes started stinging.
"Ow," I whispered, touching my face. My vision blurred with a layer of tears. I blinked, letting them roll down my cheeks. I haven't cried in a long time, it's probably why it hurt. I shuffled my books around in my locker.
"I saw what happened," Landon said. I nodded and went back to shuffling my books.
"I'm not going to let them mess with you," Landon said. "Hey, it's okay." He pat my shoulder, making me look at him again.
"What do you care?" I asked, wiping my eyes with my hoodie sleeve.
"You seem like a nice person," Landon said.
"And you seem like you'd have a foursome with all of those girls," I said, lazily throwing my arm in the direction they left.
"I mean, I've done it before," Landon said, smirking. He then frowned. "But she's not someone I'd do it with."
"Sure," I said, closing my locker.
"Hey, I'm serious," Landon said, slamming his hand on the locker. He then leaned against the locker on his elbow.
"Whatever," I said, stepping away from him.
"See you in History Of Arts!" Landon called after me.
As promised, I saw him in History of Arts. Truffle decided to sit with his new boyfriend. I was in the front of the classroom, because all the seats in the back were taken.
A binder slapped the desk right next to me. I kept my chin in my hand and shifted my eyes over to who sat down next to me.
Landon.
"Ugh, what?" I asked.
"Hey," He said, ignoring me.
"Go sit somewhere else," I said. "I do not want to sit with you!"
"Okay, class," Mr. Rosé said. "And Landon, good seating choice. I'm sure you two will be great partners."
"Wait, what?" I asked. "Oh no."
"Oh," Landon whispered. I could practically hear Kath's teeth gritting. I shivered. This wasn't going to work out.
