Chapter One: The Going Away Party

Authors Note: Hey guys I hope you really enjoy this story. Please let me know what you think. I have really enjoyed writing this first chapter. By the way in this story I wrote with the image of twenty year old Justin Bieber in mind so basically how he is on the cover. In the story he is eighteen. Once again thanks so much for reading. Please give me any feedback you may have. I will say that there is vulgar language and very mild sexual content in this story but not necessarily this chapter. Thank you once again.

Diary Entry # 1 Thursday, July 18,2014

Dear Diary,

Im new to writing this way, but I have been looking forward to it. I hope to confide in this diary with my deepest thoughts and concerns. So, I guess I will introduce myself. I am Essence Leigh Kayne. Im sixteen, and I live in in Stratford,Ontario. My mother's name is Tiffany Saunders. Ever since my dad went to prison four years ago (for reasons I will tell you later) its just been me and my mom. Just for the record things are a lot better without him here. Tomorrow will be my last day in the house Ive lived in since birth. Quite frankly, this doesn't bother me like people think it should. Then again, I react to a lot of things in a different way than most people would. I am excited to start fresh, and leave bad memories in the past. We are moving to the States for my mom's work. Atlanta, Georgia to be exact. My grandparents on my mom's side live there. I also have friends there from when I visit my grandparents, so at least I will already know people my age. Speaking of people my age my best friend Nicki is having a party for me tonight so I guess this will be a wrap. I know that this entry is choppy diary, but like i said, Im new to writing about myself. I will get better. Until next time I suppose.

After finishing her diary entry, Essence got up from her desk and went into the bathroom. She ran a warm bath, and got in. She started to sing once she was relaxed, singing always made her happy.

" I can take you to a new world, take your problems away. Tell me what you wanna do girl, just come right this way. I don't never need a new girl, cause you're here to stay. Let me show you what I do girl and you'll never leave. You want me, girl you know you know you want me..." Catching a glimpse of the time, Essence got out of the bath tub, and wrapped a towel around her body. It was 6:47. The party starts at 8:30. She began blow drying her hair. After that Essence straightened her long light brown hair. She put on foundation that matched her skin perfectly, concealer, dark eye shadow, and black mascara and eyeliner that made her big brown eyes look somehow even more beautiful.

"I finally got the smokey eye look down." she said to herself. went back into her room and but on a strapless form- fitting dress. It was black, came about mid-thigh, and complimented her hourglass figure perfectly. She threw on some five inch black platform heels. After putting on some earrings, Essence grabbed her clutch, cellphone, and keys and went downstairs.

"Baby, you look gorgeous." said Tiffany.

"Thanks mom, but you know I get it from you." said Essence smirking.

"Yeah I guess that is true." said Tiffany giggling. " I hope you have fun at your party. Im actually going out for drinks with my girls so I probably won't be in until three."

"Okay, sounds good, I will probably be back around twelve or one."

"Okay, that sounds good" said Tiffany

"The party starts soon so Id better get going. I love you." said Essence kissing her mom on the cheek.

" I love you too. And no sex, no drugs, no..."
