Once in a Blue Moon

Chapter 19.

David.

I see the thundering ray hit Isabelle, and within few seconds she dissappears from my eyes. As the thundering ray hits her, my heart pounds. What has he done to her? Will she ever come back? Will she be fine? She will be, right? Why will she not? I know she will come back, for me, because I'll be waiting for her till death. No magic, no spell can cage feelings. She will  come back.
The kingdom is frozen. It froze infront of my eyes and I could do  nothing. Nothing. What kind of crown prince am I? I couldn't save anyone. Father, mother, Rossana, all are frozen and I stand here doing nothing. Attempt to save Isabelle also failed.
The sun will never rise up again. Now its just me, the loneliness, the evil and the blue moon. The Blue Moon, witness of his cruelness, evilness, devilish character. If he has frozen all, he couldn't freeze the sky, the moon, the only witness left.
I take deep breath.
I have to trust myself. No magic can cage a heart. Isabelle will return, for sure, no matter how strong his magic is.

I turn back. "What was that spell about?" I ask.
"Oh!" Vinkart exclaims. "I would not like to break your gentle, soft heart within my one sentence. Have patience, I will break you into pieces, but step by step."
Surely, he will.
"By the time I go and make some arrangements for you, you shall stay here. I'll be back within a moment." He says. " Stay Here!" He says with pressure.
"Sure." I reply in a very rude manner. He dissappears from my eyes leaving some smoke. As soon as he leaves, I feel a tap on my right shoulder.
I look around, I see Rossana. Oh my God!
How? Did he not froze everyone?
"Rossana, you!" I exclaim in a bit loud voice.
"Shhhh!" She says.
"What is happening? Tell!" I ask her in a slow voice.
What really happened? I cannot understand anything.
"First, you tell me where's Isabelle?"
"On Earth." I say and point my finger towards the direction where Isabelle disappeared. "There, I created a gate which leads to the world where humans without magic live."
"You think she'll be safe there?"
"Yeah. That is the only place to stay safe, right now. " I say. "Now tell me, how are you okay?"
"Well, how many people attended the ball?" She asks.
Why is she asking that?
"Appoximately, 2000, I guess." I reply.
"And 600 to 700 people died in the rain. Apparently, 1300 to 1400 people were still alive in the castle."
"Yeah."
"The fact is, he froze the royal family and Grandelle but not the common people. The entire castle is covered with ice but the people in the castle are still fine. Still, there's a slight change in them. Their eye color has changed to green. All the people still alive, now have green eyes, his eye color. I don't know how that affects their behaviour.
Another fact, I am not sure about this, but I think he was not knowing the members of the royal family. He found the entire family infront of him, he failed to notice my dissapearance. He froze mom, because he aimed to freeze the wives of the king and Uncle Kevin, where ever they are, and water do obey him. As I was hiding behind the tree, maybe he was unware that I am also the member of royal family, I guess. He might be having some other plans also." She explains.
"How do you know?" I ask.
"Well, I saw. But I am still not sure about why I was left unfrozen."
"Oh."  I say.
My eyeballs move towards the gate I made.
"Shall we run?" I ask.
"Where?" She asks.
"There." I say looking towards the gate.
"Vinkart isn't here at the moment. If we escape, there's still a possibility to defeat him, if we don't, all the hopes will shatter. We can together defeat him, but not today, maybe tomorrow. Isabelle will also be there. We need some time, to be over him. After few days, we will return and attack him all of a sudden."
"You are right about everything but maybe not about Isabelle. Vinkart's magic hit her brain. His magic is as powerful as anything." She says. Her words pounds my heart. I take a deep breath.
"Everything is going to be alright." I say.

"Surely it shall be." A heavy voice crawls in my ears, of course its him.
I turn back, his face appears in my eyes.
"Well, I didn't noticed you, Rossana, but now as I did, I shall immediately behead you." He says.
He claps his middle finger with his thumb of his left hand and with the end of his clap Rossana dissappears.
Oh my god! Where is she? Is she okay? Will she be okay?
My heart pounds, it beats faster. I feel my soul leaving my body but still I continue to breath.
"Don't worry David, you'll see her die infront of your own eyes." He says and smiles. "You think you'll defeat me. Let me remind you, you can never ever defeat me, no matter you come with a sudden or hide or in any way, you will never defeat me. NEVER."
He raises his right hand and his right palm takes the shape of the claw. I feel my foot squeezing and I fall down. His eyes widen up and his foot began to walk. I feel someine dragging me to somewhere, my leg's flesh continue to squeeze which tries to squeeze my hard leg bones. As my bones feel the pressure from the my flesh, I feel the pain which makes me  scream to death. The pain covers my eyes in black and my eyes closes.

I don't know after how many hours or minutes have I  opened my eyes. For few seconds I see blur images infront of my eyes.
I find my self on a bed covered with a white bed sheet. Towards my head, near the bed, I see a big white bowl, a very big bowl on air. I can't see what's inside, but I see smoke coming out of the bowl. I try to get up, but I don't feel my legs. I can see them but I don't feel them. It seems like my entire body is paralyzed. I cannot move an inch or even a  centimeter.
Slowly something appears infront of my eyes, in the direction of my foot, near the bed.
I see Rossana. Her half of the neck is kept on a curved part of a wood, another wood which has a curve on its bottom, slides down, which completes the circle. Her other half of the neck is outside the circle. As my eyeballs roll upwards, I see a sharp, big blade on top hung by a rope. It is a machine which is used to behead  a person.
Her eyes are closed, she is unconscious.
Oh God! Help! Please. I need your miracle. I can't do anything. All the possible doors to solve have been locked forever. I am helpless.
"Any last wishes?" I hear a heavy voice which crawls in my ears.
"Why are you asking me? You said you'll not kill me, didn't you?" I ask.
"Well, you are not going to be yourself, so any wishes before I hold control on you. I will not kill you. I will kill your inner self.
You see, I don't break promises.
What is your last wish? I love  fulfilling last wishes."
"Will you keep me a promise as my last wish?" I ask.
"What is that promise?" He asks.
"Leave Rossana, let her live till the nature calls her back." I say.
"Why do you think I will promise you such a thing? I know that she'll try to kill, attack me, or to destroy my plans."
"Aren't you strong enough to defend yourself? Please, I request."
"No."
"Please, for the sake of goodness that was in you before. You were soft before, the situations made you hard. Please, let her live. You have taken everything away from me, now you are taking myself away from me, just leave her. Please."
"Fine." He replies. Yeah! 
"But there'll be some restrictions." He says.
"What restrictions?" I ask.
"That , I will not tell you." He says and gives me an evil smile. OH THAT DEVIL!
He claps his middle finger with his thumb of both the hands and Rossana disappears.
"She'll be fine." He says. "Now it's your turn."
He slides the bed towards the direction, where my foot faces while my body stays in its position.
The big white colored bowl which is kept near the bed towards the direction of my head, moves a bit downwards and slides down my head. Vinkart closes his eyes, my heart pounds, sweat starts to roll down my head. He opens his eyes and I close them. My head is forced in downward direction, the bowl down my head stretches and becomes of the size of my body. I open my eyes, the bowl has become of the size of my body or maybe bigger, like a giant tub. The smoke continues to come out of it.
I feel someone push my entire body down and with a sudden, I fall.
I close my eyes. I feel my brain melting. I scream till my throat starts to ache. I feel my soul getting caged. Every part of my body aches. A feel a barrier in my brain, stopping me from thinking, restricting my senses. A dark coat covers my eyes and slowly my eyes shut down.

After 6 hours.
Rossana.

After the spell Vinkart performed, I found myself outside the castle.
The floor is covered with ice. I see fog everywhere, covering my eyes. From in the fog I see a black shadow coming towards me. The shadow is of a man. Slowly, as he comes closer, he becomes visible.
Oh God! Its David. Totally dressed in black, his cheeks has cuts, his hairs are till his ears, eyes fenced with black powder.
"David, what happened? Are you okay?" I ask.
"Who are you?" He says and tilts his head towards his right, a click sound enters my ears. He slides his left palm on his neck. His question shocks me. He can't recognise me! Really?
"Rossana! Your sister!" I exclaim. He raises up his left eyebrow and says,"If you say so." His way of talking is creepy.
There is a silence for a moment.
"David, what happened? You can tell me." I say.
"Don't ask too many questions!" He says while chopping his teeth. "One more question and my sword will pass right through your heart sister!" He says. His words shiver my veins.
"What!" I exclaim. I stare at him for a while and my eyes notice something unusual, his eyes. They are not golden brown, they are green.
Oh God!
