I never walked out in the country by myself before, my father used to always take me.
But now I realized I was walking away from home. Like I was trying to find something, but I didn't know what I was looking for. Before I knew it I could barley see home and I was getting tired and hungry. I could see the sun touching the horizon. My father would be worried about me. I needed a place to stay. I knew it would take to long to walk back into town, so I continued walking further away towards a small neighbourhood. The homes where small and sweet and it reminded me of my grandparents old neighbourhood in Toronto. As I came closer to the first house, my eyes became focused at the second last house, there where lots of cars parked outside and there was a girl standing outside on her porch smoking a cigarette. I decided to make my way towards her, by the time I reach the end of her driveway she looked at me.
"Are you here for the party?"
I glance towards the house and hear the faint music coming from the upper story of the house.
I shook my head "no"
"Then what do you want" she said while blowing the smoke out of her mouth.
"I need a place to stay" I said innocently.
"Come inside" she turned around, dropped her cigarette to the ground and smudged it with her heel. I had a deep gut feeling like this was the worse decision of my life, but it's only for one night, and I need a place to stay.
She walked to the front door and continued inside. I was hesitant and I stepped forward and followed her inside. The house was modern and seemed family friendly until I realized the air was filled with smoke and smelled like alcohol. I now realized what kind of party it was. She lead me upstairs the more I walked up the stairs the more I could smell some sort of drug. It wasn't like I expected it to be, I thought everyone would be dancing and being crazy but there where guys and girls just hanging out and socializing. She introduced me to some of her friends and then lead me over to a group of boys who where playing beer pong. I just stood there awkwardly then I saw in the corner of my eye that this guy was staring at me, in response I looked back. I couldn't believe my eyes. There stood a tall guy with charming hazel eyes and the most amazing hair. This feeling of butterflies took over my body, I didn't want to seem creepy so I just smiled and looked away my face began to burn uncontrollably and my heart began to beat faster and faster.
I asked the girl if I could borrow a phone. I got the phone and walked into the room, No one picked up, the answering machine played, I left a message.
"Hey, I'm sorry I didn't come home I got caught up at work and I'm staying the night at my friends house. Love you"
I put the phone on the bedside table. And gasped in frustration and threw my body onto the bed.
"God, am I stupid" I said to myself.
I heard mumbling right outside the bedroom door then I heard knob turning and a boy and a girl cane barging in they where making out and laughing I jumped off the bed in confusion and stood there while trying to find a away out of the room. I was so uncomfortable. Soon enough, that amazing tall handsome guy came in and started freaking out at the couple I didn't even hear what he was saying, all I cared about was that I was so attracted to him and I didn't know what to do with my feelings. Soon enough the couple left the room.
"Thanks" I said, my face again became burning hot and I started to breath heavy.
"No problem" he seemed flustered and he began to play with his hair.
"Look, I'm not just saying this because I'm drunk, but"
"What?" I was so scared to hear what he was about to say.
"I think... I think that your the most beautiful girl I've ever seen" he said in the cutest voice ever.
"I" I didn't know what to say. What a catch line.
He walked towards me." You don't need to say anything"
He read my mind? I must've been going crazy. He leaned towards me and kissed me, I didn't know what to do, it felt so wrong for so many reasons, but I did know i want this, I kissed back.
I woke up to feel the bright sun shinning on my face I yawned I was saddened by the thought of the most amazing dream that wasn't real, I turned over...
