*Princess Kia*

Thirty seconds had passed by and my eyes were still glued to the top of the ceiling, while I was sweating profusely. There was a light shower outside which happened to send it's cool breeze through the window by my side into the room, but I still managed to precipitate like a pig. My heart beat finally slowed down after the thirty seconds but picked back it's pace as I reached for my sword case in my blanket when I heard a familiar elegant low voice from my distant right,

"Met your father again? "

It was my mother, The Queen. She sat in the midst of the room, graced under the faded beam of light from my window as she made traditional mourning beads. Her wrinkled frown was covered by the shadow behind her while her focused and tired eyes due to all the crying stared down the craft as her skinny elegant hands were busy with the beads.

"I don't need you watching over me, that's my job." I said as I got up on my feet in a second.

"And how can a princess who doesn't know a thing about fighting do that? " she calmly asked while her head cocked to the other side as she didn't once look up or loose concentration from her work.

I ignored her question strove to the table beside her and filled the cup with water. I gulped down the water and poured in another, gulped down again, poured in another, gulped down again... I kept repeating this motion which drove my mother mad and the calm elegant voice I heard a few minutes ago became a low frustrated growl,

"Stop that, ..." , "...drink like a princess! "She hissed before continuing her work

Princess..

I dropped the cup down slowly and gave a swift turn to my back to get a good look at her before I spoke,

"Yes mother, I apologise... But mother, whose beads are those for? "

She gave a quick glance to her left where I stood and continued crafting. After a few seconds her growl became louder than before,

"Don't ask such foolish questions!"

I snapped immediately, "Aren't those.. Er, mourning beads? "

Her nose twitched to the left, that's a sign that I was really testing her patience.

This time she decided to not say a thing, well I wasn't done with my queries.. And I didn't care the least how this would anger her.

I made two long strives to her front and said,

"Come to think about it, you have the same one on your neck, hmmm (I said crouching down to take a good look at it) did someone you know die? Is this other bead for the tomb of the person?...."

"Watch your... "

Cutting her off I continued, "Does the person happen to be ye high, (motioning my hand up in the air right above my head)... Greyish black bearded... My father?!.... "

"Princess Kia!... " she blurted out.

"Kia!.. ", I yelled back quickly, "My name is Kia! As far as I know the person who gave me that identity is somewhere beneath the ground being served as worm food! " With that I left her presence to go change.

"How dare you talk to your own mother that way?!... " she said as she dropped her beads, got on her feet while her eyes trailed me to the closet where I changed my garments. I didn't reply and she continued,

"How dare you talk to your Queen that way?! "

Silence.

"Answer me! "
