"It was all like a dream, an illusion. Its how the universe works, it makes its own people, then makes its own history. "

Rhonwen's POV
It was morning already. I wish this day didn't arrive. I got out of comfort of my bed, and checked the time. 5:23am. I looked over at my sister, still asleep.
"Wake up, its the first day of school already"
She didn't wake up.
"Roweena, oi-"
"5 more minutes," she said.
"Its already 5:25, for your information."
She got up after that and proceeded to go to the bathroom to do whatever aside from take a long bath. God, I hate this. Summer is always so short, its annoying. Like, can we at least have three months instead of just two? Eight weeks is not enough to enjoy summer. I went to check if I had my stuff ready in my bag for school, which, everything seemed to be in there. At least she didn't touch anything in here this time.
She got out of the bathroom, hair still drenched from the water. I got in and took a quick shower and dressed up before going to the dining room to eat. At least I'll get to see them again, right? And her...It was 6am by the time the bus got here. I left the condo with my phone and my bag with my needed materials. Water, check. Wallet, check. Books, notebooks and pencil case, check and check. Lunch and utensils, check. Surely there isn't anything else I forgot about.
I entered the bus and saw Robbie, a friend I've had since last school year, when were in 6th grade. We got to our school; Manresa School. It was a Catholic school, founded by St. Candida Maria De Jesus. Not that I really cared. I've only been here for two full school years, this being my third. I looked at my watch for the time. Only to be greeted with nothing on my wrist. Great.
I proceeded to go to the chalkboards lined up at Gate 11, which the sections were posted on. When I got there, Robbie was already trying to look at the sections. It was kinda hard since everyone else was also trying to look for their own sections, so they were squeezing up to the boards. "Robbie!" I shouted, hopefully loud enough for him to hear me. He looked around and saw me at the edge of the crowd of students. After taking one more quick glance and seeing his name and then maybe looking down for any friends, he pushed his way out. I pushed my way through this time, only to be dragged out again by Robbie. "You don't need to check anymore, we're in Counsel," he said.
I get to be classmates with him, not a bad start to the year. We brought our phones to the phone locker and headed to the gym, where the students were gathering with their sections. When we got there, we started looking for our section, 7-Counsel.
As I was scanning the area, my eyes landed on Maxine. My heart began to race when I saw her. Her hair, her eyes, her stature... She was just beautiful. After what seemed like just a moment, Robbie prodded my shoulder to pull me back down from my high.
"I found the section already. I've been trying to get your attention for five minutes."
We sat down behind the boys that were already lined up. As always, there was a "first day back in school" speech done by Sir Cloyd and the Principal, Ms. Gomez. We chatted through most of it. Then after the assembly, we were led to our classrooms.
It was 3 floors of my legs hurting, considering that all I did this summer was play games and eat chips. My bag was horribly heavy, weighing down my shoulders and making my back hurt. Its the first day of school so I just thought that I'd bring all my books just in case.
