Ethan's P.O.V

I was at my locker, grabbing out books. I had felt like shit. I was tired and upset. I couldn't think, I couldn't do anything. When I shut my locker I was faced with a familiar girl.

"I'm Hazel." She says. "I didn't get your name yesterday, you ran away pretty fast. Did I scare you off?"

I laugh and I shake my head. "No. I was just... Surprised."

"And your name is?"

"Ethan." I reply. "Ethan Dolan."

"Well, Ethan Dolan. May I have your number?"

I look at her and she smiled at me. I smiled back as she handed me her phone. I put in my number and I hand it back.

"I'm not sure what we're supposed to do now." Hazel laughs. "But, I'll see you around."

She turns around and begins to walk away.

"You wanna hang out?" I say.

Hazel turns back around and flashes a small smile. "Tonight at 8. I'll send you my address."

Carson's P.O.V

It was after school and I was with James. James was the guy I had timed out on. He was different. A lot different to Ethan. I was at James' house. We were just talking and trying to get to know each other. I stood at his bedroom window as I watch the view. It was amazing.

"You like music?" He asks.

I turn around and I nod. "Yeah."

I stood there awkwardly trying to find words to get out. "Your house." I say. "It's really nice."

"My mom and dad are always working. Always have this place to myself."

"That must be lonely." I state.

James shakes his head with a small laugh. "Na, I like it that way."

I nod and I look back at the view. It was getting late. I told my mom that I was hanging out at Sage's with friends.

"So, I just wanted to talk about the timing and all that-"

"Yeah, what do we do?" James asks. "What, are you my girlfriend now?"

I shrug. "I don't know how it works."

"Well, we can get to know each other first."

I laugh awkwardly. "That's always good."

He nods with a smile. "You wanna jump into the pool?"

I check the time and I see it's getting late. But then I wondered what I'd be doing if I were home. Probably crying over a tv series.

"Sure, ill meet you down. I just have to call someone."

James nods and makes his way downstairs. I grab my phone out of my pocket and I dial the number.

"Hello?" He asks. "Carson?"

"Hey, Ethan." I reply. "I was just wondering how you were really quickly."

"I'm good." He replies. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine-"

"You want red wine?" I hear a voice in the background.

"Is that the girl you timed out on?" I ask quietly.

Ethan takes a pause. "Yeah, we're just chilling out."

I wipe the hair out of my face.

"Are you okay? What's up?" He asks.

"Nothing, I'm sorry." I say quietly. "Ill see you on Monday."

"Carson-"

"Bye." I say hanging up quickly.

I kick my bag on the ground as I rub my face.
