~Miguel's POV~
"Alright. Now that your little love session is over," Papa Héctor winked at Daniella and I. "We need to start getting you chamacos home! Your hands are already almost all bones!"
"A-almost all b-bones?!" Daniella screeched. She looked at her hands and nearly fainted. Luckily, I caught her and slapped her face a little.
"No, no, no! You will not faint on us." I said, as she looked up at me. Her cheeks were bright red, and I could feel mine were too. "I-I.." she giggled.
"What?" She asked, adorably.
"Y-you're so beautiful..." I laughed nervously. She ruffled my hair and smiled.
"Gracias. And you are muy guapo, mi amor." She said as she kissed my cheek.
"I-I'm... guapo to you..? I've never been called that by a g-girl like you." I nervously swept my hair out of my eyes and was blushing like mad.
"Very."
"What did I say?!" Papa Héctor yelled and smiled.
"T-to get us home!" I said, accidentally dropping her to the ground. She winced a second and I pulled her back up. "Sorry." She nodded.
"Si. Now, vamanos!" Papa Héctor said. We all started towards the marigold bridge. Dante and Pepita we're flying above us as well. We stood in line for a little while and saw many people cross the bridge. Some people could, some people couldn't. In particular, one girl that crossed, stood out. She would look normal from a far distance, but she wasn't. She looked like an alibrije and a human, MIXED?!
"Daniella, Miguel! Look!" Socorro said. The whole familia looked at gasped in shock. She had bright colorful patterns everywhere. She was something that looked part tiger, but with wings as well. And the ears and tail weren't just accessories, they were her bones.
"How is that even...?" I began.
"Real?" Daniella finished my sentence for me. "She's like part..."
"Alibrije...!" Papa Héctor, Mama Imelda, and Socorro said.
"That's honestly super cool, and freaky." Papa Héctor said. We all nodded. We all finally reached the counter to enter back in.
"Ah, the Rivera family! Anything to declare?" The clerk said.
"Ah, actually three things..." Papa Héctor said. He pushed the three of us forward.
"Oh my... It's you! The living boy from how many years ago was it.. 1..2..." He started counting on his fingers.
"Guess we're not important..." Daniella whispered.
"Three. It's been three years." I groaned.
"I was close! Well, uh.. Step on forward!" He let us in and we were on the side.
"You're important to me." I whispered in Daniella's ear. I kissed her cheek and smiled. She tucked her hair behind her ear and smiled back.
"This is beautiful! You never told me it was this fantastic." Daniella winked at me.
"How can you describe a place like this?! It's too amazing to put into, YOU CAN'T PUT IT INTO ENOUGH WORDS MIJO." Papa Héctor yelled.
"Papa Héctor, relax." I laughed.
"Sorry. But am i correct?!" He asked. Somehow this was driving him crazy.
"Si." We said.
"Alright. Anyways. We need to go to the department for family... Whatever it Is. Try and find out who Daniella's familia is, is the most important thing right now."
"Yeah. So let's kinda get started on that." Daniella laughed.
"I think the department is right over there. We just need to wait in that, long, long, line." Daniella said. I groaned. This would only take up more of our time!!
"No! We need to get it taken care of fast. We don't have time to wait around in lines! We need to get this sorted out. Our hands and had of our arms are already BONE. Either we demand a way to get through faster, or just leave and find them our own way." I said. Everyone gave surprised expressions at me.
"Mijo... That came out of nowhere." Mama Imelda said.
"I'm sorry. I just... We need to get home."
