I walk up to Sandy's front porch and she greets me with a smile."Olivia! I'm so glad you came over to help me."
"Oh, it's really no problem Sandy."
Sandy pulls me into a hug and I hug her back.
"Olivia! You've gotten so tall since I last saw you."
"I was here last week Sandy."
"Then you must have been eating a lot of carrots."
"Carrots?"
"Yeah! They're good to make you taller."
"No, they just make you see better."
"Oh. Well you knew what I meant honey!"
Dawson makes his way to the front porch with my mom...and whaddya know? He managed to carry his own bag without me even getting it for him. As soon as Dawson steps on the porch, Sandy pulls him into a huge hug.
"Hi Dawson! I'm so glad you wanted to come with Olivia!"
"Yeah I'm glad I came too, once we finally made it here!"
"Oh dear. What happened?"
"Olivia's driving......it was terrible."
Oh my God, he's so gonna get it when he gets his permit.....about 10 times worse. My mom comes up to the porch to greet Sandy and Dawson and I make my way inside. I go upstairs to the room that I claimed as mine and Dawson goes to his. After a little while, we go downstairs, and Sandy and mom are still talking.
"Alright Sandy, I think I'm gonna head out now. I need to stop at Susie's before I go home."
"It was good seeing you darling! I'll bring the kids home in a few days."
"Alright, if they act like brats, don't be afraid to yell at them."
"Are you kidding me?! Your kids are perfect!"
"If you say so Sandy, have fun guys!"
"Bye mom!"
"Bye kids. Love you!"
Mom leaves and I wait for Sandy to tell Dawson and I to start painting.
"Alright kids, I don't have any food for supper tonight and I don't have any snacks, so we're going grocery shopping first."
Sandy grabs her wallet and purse off the counter and tells Dawson and I to go wait in the car for her and she locks up the house.
"You kids ready?!"
"Yep! We're good," I reply for both of us.
I jump in the front passenger seat and Dawson gets in the back of the car.
"Why does Olivia always get the front? It's not fair!"
"I'm older and less annoying," I reply as I stick my tongue out as Dawson and he tries to slap me, but misses.
"Whoops! Guess you ain't gonna hit me little buddy," I smirk and turn back around and face forward.
"Sandy can I turn the radio on?"
"Sure honey!"
I tune the radio to my favorite country station and lean back in the seat and sing with the radio.
"Baby you a song, you make me wanna roll my windows down and cruise!"
"Olivia, shut the hell up. My ears are bleeding."
"When I first saw that bikini top on her she's poppin right outta the South Georgia water!"
"Seriously oh my god! Shut up!"
Sandy turns the radio down a bit and we pull into the parking lot of the grocery store and we all get out. We make our way inside and I grab a cart and hand it to Sandy.
"Sandy I wanna push the cart!"
"Okay here you go Dawson!"
Sandy hands Dawson the cart and I roll my eyes.....seriously how old is he? Like 5? I walk around the store with Sandy and Dawson for a little bit, then decide to go to the perfume aisle.
"Hey Sandy, I'm gonna go to the perfume aisle for a little bit.""Okay, I'll send Dawson to come get you when we're ready to check out."
I make my way to the perfume aisle, and I see someone from my class. Who is it? One of my friends? Nope! Of course, it's Cory Anderson, who's been obsessed with me since like 2nd grade. Maybe if I hide behind a display sign he won't see me! As I slowly creep out of Cory's sight and hide behind the deodorant display, I bump into someone and jump.
"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry! I uhhhh....didn't see ya there sir."
I don't even look up when I apologize to this mysterious person that I bumped into, but right off I know it's a guy because he's wearing basketball shorts and DC's. I take a deep breath and look up.
"Hey Olivia! I haven't seen you in awhile! Watcha been up to lately?"
I take a deep breath and smile.
"Hey Cory. It's great to see you."
Where the heck did he pop out from?! I could've sworn he was like a mile away when I hid from him! Well, I guess I'm gonna have to face him eventually.
