Opaque, that defined the clouds. It can be visibly seen through the naked eyes yet it doesn't allow any light to pass to its other side. The clouds were selfish. Depriving the people underneath it any clear sight.

Darkness hovered above the busy city. The cold wind blew from left to right as the people come and go. It was three past midnight, the time of the day when people should be resting, sleeping, and recharging their energy. But that was not the case for the city of Colleta or the infamous city of life.

Colleta is a big city composed of high-towering buildings, free liberated people, and endless fun. People from different races, age, gender, and nationality visits the place all the time. Everyone visiting the place sought the same thing, happiness, may it be morally correct or not.

Colleta offers different kinds of happiness and customers can choose anything they want as long as they can pay the right amount of money. It is a place that cannot be unoccupied or empty.

Omnivus is one of the businesses ran in Colleta. Compared to huge buildings, Omnivus is a two-story building and found at the border of Colleta. The building appeared to not have windows, only a front glass door revealed a part of the lobby. The outer wall was made of white-stained marble. Against the beautiful wall crept long vines, embracing every part of the building. It stretched from the first floor up to the base of the second. The vines made the glamorous marble wall look like an old abandoned building.

In front of the building was a well-kept front yard, a century-old fountain, and a rustic big gate that is supported by a wall encircling the whole property.

At the other side of the gate, a black Volkswagen Bettle car stopped its engine. Its door quietly opened and a person wearing a formal black suit stepped outside. He examined the building while buttoning his loose coat before turning to the window behind the driver's seat. His brow raised and lips turned thin.

"Come outside," he commanded with a sign of warning. Inside the car, he saw a slight movement.

Just as he was about to speak another word, two tiny feet appeared by the opened door. He waited for those feet to touch the road before finally looking at the small specimen.

The specimen's small face was void of any emotion. Its eyes were of the dark clouds, no hint of any light.

The two of them started walking towards the gate. The gate opened automatically as they walked into the property. The fountain spewing water welcomed them. It was beautiful and grandiose but the two didn't seem to notice. The two walked without any pause only after they faced the closed glass door.

The man didn't need to knock as the door was opened for them by a strange looking woman. None of them uttured any pleasantries and went straight to the point.

"This is Rida," the man introduced the small kid. The woman's eyes focused on the small being and examined her as if something was wrong. Without a word, the man took a step behind and turned away, and out of the property.

The scenario was cruel, leaving a small kid behind to a strange place and person. It was horrifying and somehow inhumane. But, the woman and the small kid knew it was supposed to be.

When the man was out of sight, the woman opened the glass door wider and stood beside. She gestures for the small kid to step inside and, without any doubt, she did.

The small kid's lifeless eyes finally shimmered at the sight of the bright and glamorous furnitures and decorations inside. It was different from the outside. It felt more warm and like a home she never had.

She heard the door closed behind her. The woman walked in front of her and looked at her without any trace of emotion.

"The name's Null. An Undefined."

She kept silent inspite of questioning the last word inside her mind. Unexpectedly, the woman raised out her hand towards her.

She wasn't going to take her hand but she saw her small hand already on hers. And she shook it gently.

Circumstances bring people to strange places and strange people, yet they belong.
