The Mission

Chapter 1

I slowly wake up from cold water dripping on my head, I open my eyes but see nothing but darkness. The sound of dripping water in a rhythmic pattern and a loud reverb from cars passing by fill my ears. I close my eyes once again, hoping I will wake up from a bad dream. I squeeze my eyes together and open them with the hope of seeing something, but to my disappointment I still see nothing but darkness.

A thousand of thoughts go through my head as I softly speak to myself "where the hell am I?"

I let my eyes get used to the dark and blink them once again as I begin to recognize the place around me. I look around to see dirt water and tubes everywhere, mousses are running through the place and it literally smells like shit. This has to be a sewer, but then again, how did I end up in a sewer? I look around in the hope to see a way out but no, the only thing I see is empty darkness which surrounds me. I rush my hands through my hair out of frustration as I notice a silver watch around my arm. It doesn't exactly look like an ordinary watch, it doesn't even show the time. I look at the watch as I notice a black small button on the side. I let my finger slide over the watch as it ends on the button and I click on it. Not really expecting anything to happen, but as soon as I click it there appears a transparent screen in the air, right out of the watch. A woman shows up on the screen and I jump back a little which makes me stand pressed against the wall. I slowly look back up at the woman on the screen, she has wavy blonde hair to her shoulders and big hazel brown eyes.

"Hello Thyra" she speaks with a soft voice.

Thyra? Is that my name? It's weird but now I think of it I actually can't really remember anything of myself or my life.

"I know you can't remember anything, and you should be really confused right now. But you should trust me and do what I say".

I listen carefully as I hear strange sounds coming from the background.

She looks behind her as she starts to panic, "listen I don't have much time left, you have a backpack with you with a piece of paper and... -"

She gets interrupted by some men clothed in black and armed with guns who storm into the room.

The woman begins to scream as they surround her and just before the screen goes black she yells one last thing "act normal!!"

And right then the screen disappears. What the hell!?

"Act normal" I repeat to myself, what has that supposed to mean, does she mean that I'm not normal?

I just shrug it off and look beside me to find a black backpack, just like she told me. I kneel down and unzip the backpack to find a flashlight, a map, a bottle with some green stuff in it and a small notebook. I take out the notebook and browse through it to see nothing but white empty pages. Just as I'm about to put the notebook away a small piece of paper falls out onto the ground. I pick it up and unfold it as I read in a fast handwriting '15 S Henry St, Pearl, blue grouse lodge hotel'.

"Hmm, I guess that is where I am going to" I softly speak to myself.

I get up as I put the notebook back into my backpack and get out the flashlight in return. I then zip my backpack back up and throw it over my shoulder. I flash on the flashlight as an amount of light flashes out of it and I clearly see the place where I for whatever reason it will be ended up. I look down to the ground as I notice I don't even have shoes on and my clothes are all ripped. I shrug and start walking through the small alleys of the sewer, hoping to find a way out. It seems like hours of walking and my feet are really starting to hurt. I slowly let myself slide down against the wall and get some rest before starting to walk again. I get out the notebook once again. Checking of there really isn't any information written in there which will may help me, but nope, only blank pages. I sigh as I put the notebook back and rest my head against the wall, what happened to me and why am I here? I decide to get back up and continue my search for the exit. I keep walking and walking as I finally find something which may will lead me out of this place. I start walking faster as I finally reach the end of the alley, I look up and see a ladder leading all the way up to a black hole in the wall. A shiver goes through my back as a strong squall blows through the place.
