How can you possibly expect me
To tell you my feelings when you
Have hurt me again and again
So many times I've stopped countingHow can you still hold me
To the standards that you had for me when
I was young and hopeful and saw
The world as a pure placeHow can I possibly let you go when
You are the only thing that keeps me
Tethered to this world but
You also keep me tethered to self hatredHow can I finally be free of you when
Everything you say sticks me to you and
Now we are so stuck together that
It is impossible to unravelHow can you continue to speak like that to me when
You see the fear in my eyes every time you
Raise your voice you can see I fear your
Wrath
