"Mom! You're back!" Sabrina exclaimed as she ran up and hugged me.

I laughed. "Hey, Pumpkin."

"I thought you would've been gone longer," Zion stated as he hugged me.

"Nah. It was just a short talk. Why? Do you not want me home?" I asked.

"No, no, it's not that! I just wasn't expecting you home this soon," Zion corrected.

Brooklyn walked up to me and hugged me, giving me a quick peck on the lips.

"Ewww!" Sabrina's face crinkled up as she stuck her tongue out in disgust.

"Someday you'll be doing the same thing," I said as I smirked at her.

"That?" She pointed at Brooklyn and I. "No way! Not in a million years!"

Brooklyn chuckled and ruffled her hair before walking into the living room. I followed him and sat down beside him on the sofa. I leaned my head on his shoulder as he started surfing through channels on the television.

"What did Mikey wanna tell you?" He asked as he looked at me with curiosity hinted in his bright green eyes.

"Just something about the meeting," I said whilst biting my lip. I didn't know how I was supposed to explain this to him without making him freak out.

"What about it?" He asked.

"Just...promise me you won't freak out," I said.

He looked at me with furrowed eyebrows. "Why?"

"Because. Just promise me." I stared at him, waiting for him to agree.

Finally he nodded and I exhaled, hoping this wouldn't end badly.

"Well, apparently Jacob's in the pack we're having a meeting with and he wants to see me," I informed.

Brooklyn's jaw clenched, his body stiffened, and his eyes turned blood red.

"What?" He yelled, his voice booming.

"Brook, calm down. You'll be with me and I won't leave your side. I won't even talk to him," I reassured as I rubbed up and down his arm in an attempt to calm him down.

"But your ex is going to see you again! How am I supposed to calm down?" He asked, spitting out the word 'ex' with hatred dripping from his voice.

I gently grabbed his face in my hands and stared into his eyes. "Nothing will happen. I'll be with you. It'll be fine." As I said this I spoke slowly, hoping that he'd properly be able to comprehend everything I'm telling him.

Finally his eyes turned green again-- although they were darker than usual-- and he finally loosened his muscles from the tensed-up state they were in only seconds ago.

"I know. I just don't want anything to happen to you, or the kids." He spoke softly as he leaned into my touch.

"His wolf is tense," Silver stated.

I kissed him softly and lingered there for a few seconds.

"Is it any better now?" I asked once I pulled away.

"Yeah, a little."

I snuggled into Brooklyn's chest and rubbed my hand up and down his arm. I looked up at him to see him staring down at me with a frown.

"What's wrong?" I asked as I brought his hand to my lips and kissed his knuckles.

He shrugged. "Honestly, I'm not sure. I'm just worried, I guess."

I gave him a small smile of reassurance. "It'll be okay, Brooky."

He wrapped his arms around me and placed his chin on the top of my head as he continued surfing through channels until he found a show for us to watch.

"Mommy, why was daddy yelling?" Sabrina asked.

"He was a bit angry at something. He okay now, though," I replied honestly.

She nodded. "What was he angry about?"

"Nothing important."

I kissed her head and hugged her to my chest. I was scared that Jacob would come after Zion and Sabrina, too. I don't know what I'd do if I ever lost them.

"Ivy! Bet and Sam are here!" Brooklyn yelled.

I squealed and ran downstairs. Bet and Sam both jumped on me, causing me to lose my breath.

"I missed you!" Bet exclaimed.

"I missed you too, Betty," I replied, then I gasp for breath and they both got off me.

"Mom, where's dad?" Zion asked.

"I don't know," I replied.

"I'm right here!" Brooklyn called from the kitchen.

"Oh," Zion says and laughs.

Then he walks off to the kitchen.

Sam, Bet, and I walk over to the sofa and plop down, laughing and talking about our past.
