Part One

Shatari's POV *

SHATARI NYREE ! I jump up &' roll straight off my bed scared asf looking around . I look up to see my mama standing at my door laughing her ass off . Like tf -.- . . "Really mama" :( ? I say standing up. "It's times to get up , I don't want you laying in bed all day you need to go out &' explore" she says . Getting up off the floor , mumbling to myself I walk to my bathroom !

"WHAT WAS THAT I HEARD YOU SAY PINHEAD ASS LUL GUH ! " I hear my mama shout . I giggle to myself , "nothing mama" ! "Yeah that's what I thought" she says walking out to the hallway .

I walk over to shower , turning it on to let it heat up . I turn to my full body mirror on the wall of my bathroom taking in my features .

Most people say I'm very beautiful , in my eyes I'm only average . I stand at 5"1 , caramel complexion , beautiful light brown eyes , plump pouty lips , & a curvy body . My natural hair stops a little past my shoulders , but my jet black 24" Malaysian hair weave stops at my ass . Not that I really need it , but I WANT IT .

I get in the shower , tilting my hair back letting the water hit every inch of my head . Thinking about all that's happened in the past few weeks of my life .

| FLASHBACK | . . .

I was sitting down in our family room holding my babysister Zakariya in my arms . " noonie can we watch scooby doo " kariya says . I smile down at her & gives her a big kiss on her cheek . she starts giggling uncontrollably , "noonie stopppp it" . I laugh at her & turned our favorite Scooby Doo movie on .

( 30 MINUTES LATER )

Our mom walks in sitting down beside us . I pause the movie turning towards her "is everything ok mama" ? She has this really weird look on her face .

" Shatari I have some good &' bad news . Will you come talk to me in the kitchen ? " I look down at kariya laying in my arms dead asleep with her mouth hanging all open . I Giggle & lay her down on the couch .

I get up to follow my mom into the kitchen . " what's going on mama? " I look down at my vibratin phone In my lap seeing that my boyfriend of 6months Kyran had texted me . I sit my phone back down giving my mama my full attention .

She gives me a small smile & I smile back at her

" baby I'm opening a new store down in Chicago & we all have to move down there so i can make sure everything is just right "

Right when she said they my heart fell to my stomach & tears began to swell in my eyes . I was happy for my mama , but I also didn't wanna leave all my friends & especially Kyran behind .

We live in South Beach California . It was the middle of June &' My senior year started in August . I wipe my tears away & I give my mom a fake smile . " that's great mama ! I'm so happy for you "

" Are you sure your okay with moving ? We leave in 2 weeks " I give her a hug telling her that I was okay with it , letting her know how proud of her I was .

She kisses my cheek " baby I promise it'll be great I love you ! " I sniffle & start smiling , " i love you too mama "

All of a sudden we hear --

" NOONIE WHY YOU LEAVE ME LIKE DWAT?? " I turn around looking at Kariya standing with her hands on her hips .

Me &' my Mama fell out laughing . " Nuh Uh , all that attitude was not necessary " I say still giggling a little .
