Chapter one

Alex's pov;

"Here is your schedule, I hope you have a fantastic year at this school." My guidance counselor said "thank you." I faked smiled hating her perky attitude. I walked out and I was greeted by a girl "Alex?" She said "yeah?" I said

"Hi! I'm Anna Marie!" She said "do I know you?" I asked "no, but I'm your guide today. I'm showing you around the school and how to get to your classes." She said. I looked her up and down and saw her outfit.. yikes. She was wearing a pink crop top with ripped high waisted jeans and van high tops with a grey cardigan to top it all. I mean it wasn't that bad. But not my style of choice.

"May I see your schedule?" She said with her hand out "sure..." I said and handed it. "Oh, Ms Parker is your home room! She's a great English teacher. I'm actually in that class. Come on, I'll show you the way." She smiled and she walked In front of me, I rolled my eyes groaning not wanting to be stuck with her for a whole day.

We got to Ms. Parker's class "come on, you can sit with me." She said "no, it's fine. I'll sit somewhere else, I want to make some friends." I said. One thing I hate about moving in the middle of the school year or at any time, you don't have friends. I sat towards the back. A girl sat next to me "sup." She said "sup." I said back and we dabbed up each other. {the hand shakes guys do.} "I'm Brie." "I'm Alex." I said "you new?" She asked

"Yeah." I said. "Do you usually act like this or?" She asked "like what?" I said "laid back and chill?" She said "to be honest no.. I just acted like that cause you acted like it. I'm new. I'm desperate for friends." I said and she laughed. "Honestly me too." She said and we both laughed. "So.. Alex. I see you're stuck with A." She said pointing to the perky chick.

"Yeah.. She's my guide." I said "she's part of SCA. It's her job. But if you want I'll show you around." Brie said "I'd love that. You seem less perky than her." "Yep that's A Alright. She's perky and annoying." She said and I laughed.

Class began and to be honest, it wasn't that bad. I think this year will be good. "Pssttt.." Brie whispered "what?" I whispered "why'd you move here?" She asked "got kicked out of my old school." "Really? For what?" "I spray painted the halls and the principals car." "Really?" She said "no, I'm kidding. My dad got a job transfer here." I said laughing at how she believed me. "Oh.. that's cool what does he do?" "He's a chef at a high class restaurant." "That's cool which one?" She said "it's called all time." I said "oh my god! My parents love that restaurant! It's really expensive too." She said and I nodded. 

Half way through class there was an announcement "Hello students, it's that time of the year!" A male voice said and everyone groaned. I furrowed my brows and listened. ""Hello students tomorrow is the annual school lock in! You will Not be able to leave until 7:30 am!" Everyone groans "what's a school lock in?" I asked "it's where teachers lock students In and assign you a random partner all night and you have to make a paper on that person and what you've learned from them." Brie explained and I roll my eyes not wanting to participate.

"Remember you will arrive at school at 8 PM to 7:30 AM! Please remember to take this opportunity to make new friends and to learn something about one another. Also please remember that teachers will take attendance and if you do not show, you will receive a zero for three grades!" "Three grades?" A student complained. Honestly same. "Teachers, please check your emails on further details and please remember that you are to assign your students with a random partner and do not let them pick their own." I groaned cause I want Brie to be mine and I'm hoping I don't end up with 'A'. We went back to our worksheets and I actually learned some things about Brie and she learned some things about me.

"Alright class, I've pre-planned your partners." Ms. Parker said and started telling students their partners. "Shawn.. oh, I don't have a partner for you, I'm sorry I- oh wait. We have a new student. Alex! Please stand up." She said and I groaned and stood up. "Shawn meet Alex, Alex meet Shawn." She said "you guys will be partners." "Um- Ms!" I said "yes?" "I literally just came to this school, do I really need to participate in this?" I said "not my rules. Plus I can't leave one of my students hanging. It wouldn't be fair now would it?" She said and I sighed and sat down.
