"Another shift," I said to the manager.
Marcus looked at me for a second, nooded his head, and then walked off. Leaving me completely clueless.
What was that about? I say to myself. Marcus has never treated a worker with such annoyance. He always treats everyone kind. But today for some reason he didn't. I could tell something was wrong. Even though he wont admited it, stating that I need to worry about my own business.
That day I didn't work an extra shift. I left the gas station early. Going home to work on school work that I havent even finished. My project for Mrs. Karmacs class is due tomorrow. I needed to get a start on it before I failed the first semester.
I reached my house 10 minutes later. I go straight to my room, get dressed, and take out my lop top. I opened up the word document. Starring at it a second too long before I started writting the book report. I was able to finish it in no time.
That night I ate supper, took a shower, and went to lie down. I was overly exhaused. Marcus was on my mind the whole time. I could stop thinking about him. I desperately wanted to know if everything was ok. Before my mind wondered any longer, I heard a beap coming from my iphone. I looked at my phone and it was a message from my bestie. "Hey girl, where are you? I thought you were coming to my party.!" A party, I totally forgot. It starts in 10 minutes. I quickly got up, and put on the hottest dress I could find before slipping in my car and driving off.
I arrived there five minutes late. I opened up the door letting the music blast through my ears. I go directly out back by the pool. I take out my phone about to text my bestie when I hear someone beside me. I turn around and there was Christie, my best friend. "Hey Christie, I'm so sorry! I completely forgot about the party." She just starred at me, not saying a word. A few seconds later, she came up and gave me a hug letting me know she wasn't upset with me. "I'm glad your here!" she said happily. "Me too."
" So, are you ready to get drunk." she said laughing. I bumped her in the sholder before I shouted. "Let's get it going!" She laughed. We went inside and got a bottle of wisky. She got two glasses out and poured wisky tipping mine off. Before midnight I drank about 10 glasses. I was ready to pass out.
I walked towards Christie saying good bye before leaving her house. I walked outside, breathing in the fresh air. I walked to my car, about to open the car door. when a guy comes up behind me keeping my balance before I collapsed. "Thank you!" I managed to say. "No problem!" he said. Taking me by the hand, he walked me off to the passenger seat. As soon as I sat down I passed out.
