Iron Maiden Part 1

My name is Morgan Stark, and I'm different. 20 years ago, Thanos, was Earths biggest threat, and he 'killed' half of the universe. I say killed, but it was more like temporarily removed. My mother was part of that half, while she was pregnant with me. The thing was, I was born during that time of temporary removing, and for some reason, I can now see everyone in the universe. Don't worry, I don't understand either. I don't think I ever will.

Stark Industries is where I work. I don't really need the job, as my father is rich, but it gives me something to do. I arrived outside Stark tower, and pushed my way through the main entrance. I barely was inside my laboratory when my co-worker, Jamie Rogers, ran up to me. "Hey! Wanna go for a coffee tomorrow?" He asked me. I rolled my eyes and sighed, it's not that he's a bad guy, it's just that he is way too into American culture.

"Sorry Jamie, I'm busy. I have friends to catch up with." I replied, walking a bit further into the building.

He caught up to me again and grabbed my arm. "I'm your friend, aren't I? Can I not join you?" I'd had enough.

I turned to face him and tell him I'm not bothered. "Sure you can come. You'd fit right in with the gossip over make-up and who's dating who." I commented dryly. But eyes lit up, I guessed he never got the hint.

"Really?"

"No."

I pushed past Jamie and made my way over to my lab. I smiled at seeing familiar surroundings. the messy desk, the navy wallpaper with ash stains from explosions. I was shook out of my trance when a knock on the door interrupted me. "I swear to God J-" I stopped myself as I opened the door. It wasn't Jamie, but in fact my dad.

"Huh. I thought you expected me." He half-smiled.

"Dad! You know I do respect other people's privacy." I replied.

"Excuse me miss. I am your boss here, not your Father. I will fire you if you call me dad one more time."

"Fine. And you can't fire me, I'm here on my own free will. But whatever, what do you want?" He sighed and had a guilty look on his face, I had a feeling I wouldn't like it.

"I've been asked on a mission, by S.H.I.E.L.D, to travel to China, to shut down the 10 Rings once and for all, so I've decided to make you the temporary CEO, so look after your mother for me." The 10 Rings are a terrorist organisation lead by the Mandarin, and have been terrorising my father for thirty years.

"Da- I mean boss, your 63. Are you sure you don't want me to go?" I asked, worried.

"No. I am not letting you risk your life when mine is almost over." He told me as he clicked a button on his sunglasses. His bright red suit instantly consumed his body, leaving the Iron Man in his place. He waved goodbye, before flying out of the window.

"Dad wait!" I yelled, but he was too far gone. I growled under my breath, and threw a piece of vibranium against the wall, leaving the wall with a hole in it.

After I finished working, I drove home to find my mother had disappeared. I checked the whole house but there was no sign of her. "F.R.I.D.A.Y, where's mom?" I asked our A.I assistant.

I was responded with the female sounding robot speaking throughout the whole house. "-Sorry Miss Stark. Mrs Potts-Stark left without telling me.-" That was weird, no one in this house leaves without telling F.R.I.D.A.Y.

"Don't worry F.R.I.D.A.Y, I'll find her." I frowned, and instantly, the amber glow consumed my emerald eyes. Suddenly, my mind was in space and I could see the souls of every being in the universe. I thought about my mother and my mind warped to where my mom was located. She was at the shops, I had wasted my energy for absolutely no reason. As soon as I was brought back to reality, I fell to the floor, dizzy.

Meanwhile, Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man, was soaring through the sky, almost breaking the sound barrier, when suddenly, his personal A.I. made him flinch. "-Sir, if you look down, you have arrived.-" F.R.I.D.A.Y told him.

"Thanks, but do you have to be so loud?" He replied.

"-Sir, I am speaking to you in my usual frequency. You are going deaf.-"

"Cheeky robot." Iron Man mumbled under his breath as he dived down to an old, rundown town in the middle of China.

Iron Mans helmet retracted, revealing his face. Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through his back, at the bottom of his spine. Tony fell to the floor, spitting blood. He looked up to see a familiar, but blurry face before he blacked out.

When my mother got back, I couldn't help but feel like something was off. I don't know if it was because my dad was gone or fact that my mother left without telling anyone. I was walking to my room when a shiver struck my spine. I just had to check on my dad, I'm too worried.

I took a deep breath and once again, my eyes were amber and I flew through space. I found my father and I screamed. He was being dragged into a house, tied up and bleeding. I was shot back down to Earth to find my mother watching me. "What's happened to him?" She asked me. I could see the fear in her eyes, as if she was ready to cry.

"It's dad... He has been shot and captured." I told her. She burst into tears so I embraced her in a hug. Suddenly, I had an idea, so I pulled away. "Mom, I've got to go." I told her as I ran out the door.
