"Holy crap! " I was late. My first day of college, and i was late! And i had never dressed as fast as i had on this day, september 9th 2014.
"Maybe you should quit breaking your alarm clocks upon waking. " My dad said nonchalantly without looking up from his computer that rested on his lap 24/7. Not that it was his fault, we had to live somehow.
"Maybe you should wake me up, since you know that my alarm clock has stopped working.. " I replied with a raised eyebrow, grabbing a piece of dried toast. Not my favourite breakfast, but it'll have to do just like the simple dark jeans and blue tee would.
"That's the 6th one this month. Buy your own this time.. " He pursed his lips before cracking a smile "college girl"
"Have a great first day. " He hugged me tightly.
"thanks dad. " I smiled and upon turning i gasped.
"Who's been parking in our drive?! " I raised an eyebrow at the new looking charcoal grey golf GTI. I'd always wanted it. Maybe i should claim it as it's in MY drive.
"Me. " He smiled smugly down at me. He had always towered over my 5ft 5 frame with his 5ft 9. I frowned.
"How come you get a new-" He lobbed the keys at me before i could get another word in edgeways. And then i realized.
"Oh. My. GOD! Thank you so much! " I grabbed his face and covered it in kisses before sprinting from the door to the car. Sitting in it, the new car scent hit me and i smiled at the small tree freshener that my dad had already put in. I knew how he hated the new car smell, but i loved it so i tugged it down and threw it into the glove box.
I guess my luck was in, i wasn't going to be late for my first day as a college girl!
As i drove i noticed my hands getting sweatier. I wasn't exactly the biggest hit in secondary school. Absolutely no boys feel head over heels for me and i was severely bullied. Whoever said it wasn't all punches and kicks were liars. That was just it for me. I only ever had one friend, and that was Hunter who thank heavens was going to the same college.
That reminded me. I knew i shouldn't use the phone whilst driving but how else was i supposed to let him know? So I dialled Hunters number and the cars stereo beeped. What the hell? Soon enough i heard two dial tones and then Hunters voice. That sly son of a bitch! He had already installed Bluetooth!
"Case? Why are you calling me at this time?" His voice indicated he had just woken up.
"Hey Hunter, guess where i'm calling from. " I grinned to myself and I knew Hunter could hear it through my voice.
"Your mobile? " He snickered.
"Smart ass. Nope, i'll be there to pick you up in five! Besides, college starts in 40 minutes and you'd have to bus if it wasn't for me?! "
"You know me. In abit, Turkey tit. " And with that he hung up, leaving me with a giggle from another one of his famous lines.
I pulled up outside his house and, as always, his dad was in the garage just getting into his car yelling up to Hunter. I'm guessing this was one of the days he could have had a lift. Oh well.
"Hey Ian. " I waved as he looked up from the steering wheel.
"Hey Cassie, new wheels? Better than mine. " He played with a cheeky smile. I nodded, returning it.
"Sweet, no more rides for Hunter. " He winked and slammed his door shut before he started to roll down the drive. He stuck his middle finger up and for a moment i thought it was at me but then i noticed Hunter behind me.
