☽Diana

"Diana let me help you." Mali came running out and grabbing one of my bags.

Joy came outside the house looking at Mali then at me, "I'm sorry about her, she's really excited."

I chuckled, "It's fine." Nina just stood there awkwardly not introducing herself. I rolled my eyes but laughed to myself, it's so me.

"Who's this?" Joy said noticing Nina. Nina grabbed Mrs. Hoods hand and shook it.

"Hi I'm a close friend of Diana's. I'm Nina Dove. I also work at the prison." She started to ramble lord.

Everyone paused for a minute then Joy spoke up, "So, let's show you to your room."

Their house was a nice one story with four bedrooms. They put me in Calum's old room. As soon as I walked in I immediately noticed the band posters. It reminded me of him so much.

"I didn't know if I should take them down but I can if you'd like." Joy spoke up pointing along the wall.

I shook my head, "No it's perfect. Thank you for letting me stay." I ran my fingers along the dresser.

"Well I'll let you unpack," She started to walk out but stop and turned, "Nina would you like to stay for dinner?"

Nina smiled, "Yes. Thank you Mrs. Hood."

She smiled and walked out. I looked over at Nina and pulled my suitcase onto the bed, "Want to help me unpack?"
^
I plopped on the bed, "God that was tiring."

Nina held her hand out pulling me up, "Why do you have like 500 different t- shirts?"

"You never know when you're gonna need one."

Nina just laughed and I heard quick footsteps down the hall. Mali ran into the room and breathlessly said, "Dinners ready."

Nina and I walked into the kitchen smelling all types of smells. I smelled the sweet smell of bread, almost felt the warmest of it. My stomach grumbled at the smell. I almost forgot I was eating for two.

We sat down and I silently prayed to myself. I mean I wasn't too religious myself but I did grow up in a Christian household and believe in God.

I dug into the food like a pig and almost choked once or twice, "Diana honey don't choke."

I looked up and smiled awkwardly. I wiped my mouth with a napkin and sighed, "I'm sorry Joy. It's just this food is so delicious."

She blushed, "Thank you. It's a family recipe. I've had it for years."

My head then started to fill with Calum.

Family.

I know he said it'd be ok but one million dollar bail. What're we gonna do?

I cleared my throat, "Joy I'm not trying to ruin the mood but what about Calum?"

Everybody got silent and just looked at me. Joy sighed and sat her fork down, "I'm not sure. All we can do is just save up as much money as we can. I can talk to his father."

Mali looked over at her mother, "No we're not going to call Dad. He's just gonna want to come back into our lives again, then leave. I'm not letting myself or Calum go through that pain again."

Joy just grabbed Mali's hand and squeezed it, "Diana we'll figure out something. Even if it does resort to calling his father."

Mali rolled her eyes and stared down at her plate. Joy cleared her throat, "So who's gonna help me with the dishes?"

I raised my hand but Nina grabbed it and put it down, "I'll help Mrs. Hood." I eyed her curiously but she just smiled.

"Oh I've got a surprise for you!" Mali jumped up and grabbed my hand. I followed her into a room that was right beside Calum's, which is my room now.

She opened the door and it was mostly empty besides the object that grabbed my attention. It was crib without any bedding then on another wall there was a diaper changing station.

I walked up to the crib and ran my finger along the wood. Mali came up beside me and looked over at me, "It's Calum's old crib. We didn't put any bedding in it because we don't know the sex, obviously."

My eyes started watering. I started to imagine Calum and I taking care of the baby. I watched as we walked through the door with the baby in hand. Calum running in here at night when he or she was crying. Then laying the baby down while it quietly slept. I would come up behind him and look at the baby. Just thinking they're so perfect, this is perfect.

Mali snapped me out of my thoughts grabbing my hand, "Look at this!"

She dragged me to a corner of the room where a rocking chair sat. I immediately sat in it and it started to remind me of my childhood. My dad would sing me lullaby's while he rocked me. He even did it as a toddler. I started to rock and put my hands on my stomach. I will make sure this little one has a perfect life.

No matter if Calum's here or not, I will be there for them.

My chapters are getting short and it's triggering me. It's like I have good ideas but I don't wanna rush them.

I have to like make fill chapters before the big event chapters. It just I don't know bothers me sometimes.

I guess that's story writing though.

Anyways like always thanks to who's reading and hope your enjoying it!
