You couldn't stand to see Marvin like that. All he ever did was believe in you (and occasionally give you a heart attack). You couldn't let him down. You had to work hard and believe in yourself as much as he did in you, and try your best! With a heavy sigh, you decided to head over to Chief Irons' office at lunch, and ask him if you could have another interview. "I'll tell him that I was sick and couldn't make it, that's a totally reasonable excuse." you thought to yourself, trying not to back out on your decision like you did last time. Though just thinking about having to talk to Irons makes you wish you had just gone to the interview in the first place. You've never had to deal with him directly before, thanks to Marvin, but you've heard stories of his short temper, and let's just say... strange tastes. You were sure he couldn't be as bad as people said, but still didn't like the idea of having to face him alone.

Work had been fairly easy that half of the day. you were able to get away with only taking a few calls and filing paperwork for other people, but never having to be sent out. You almost wish you had been sent out or been so overworked that you couldn't break for lunch. Unfortunately, that was not the case. You had practically nothing to do and lunch was only three minutes away.  You groaned audibly as pushed your chair away from your desk to stand up. You walked out of the main office and headed upstairs. Your anxiety began to grow as you got closer to Irons' office, you prayed he was out to lunch, but as his door came into sight you could clearly see the light was on. Gathering up your courage you crept closer to the door until you were standing just a foot away from it. Being this close you could hear two distinct voices, but couldn't make out what they were saying exactly. Without thinking you crouched down and pressed your ear to the door.

"Would you like to tell me what exactly, they think they're doing trying to give ME orders! This is MY city goddammit!"

"Calm down. There were not enough qualified candidates to fulfill the two teams, all they are asking for is a few volunteers from the list of those in the station that applied."

"I already told them where they could shove it if they wanted my men Wesker!"

There was a large bang that made you pop away from the door. The Alpha Team Captain was fighting with Irons about not having enough people. You couldn't help but feel bad, and seeing your perfect opportunity you stood up and knocked on the door. The room was still silent since the loud bang, but now you felt like all of the energy was directed towards you, and whatever bravery that caused you to knock on the door slowly fleeing. As the door swung open. A tall thin, rather handsome, man opened the door throwing you completely off guard. You swear you caught a slight hint of surprise grace his features, but it was nearly impossible to tell without being able to see his eyes through the dark sunglasses he was wearing. "What do you want!?" Irons barked commanding your thoughts to attention and causing your heart to jump into your throat.

"I-I'm sorry I didn't know you were busy I just wanted to see if there was a way to reschedule my interview with the S.T.A.R.S. team, I was too sick to make the first one and..."

"Ha ha ha!" Irons bellowed successfully interrupting you. "Well this your lucky day, Wesker here was just telling me how he needed some more team members so I guess you're fucking hired!" Irons explained seeming rather amused with himself. Having assumed he slipped Wesker a fast one Irons wore a large grin, making his mustache shrink up on his lip and his pudgy cheeks nearly block his vision with how far they rose.  Though his happiness evaporated in nearly an instant as Wesker responded.

"Well if the chief is willing to hire you on the spot you must be doing something right. You're (Y/N) right?" you nodded back, mouth slightly agape in near in disbelief. "I remember your application, your teammates wrote very highly of you as well. I look forward to working with you, stop by the new S.T.A.R.S. office tomorrow morning around 7 and we'll get you started." Wesker explained with a warm smile as he extended his hand towards you to shake. You simply nodded in response as you shook his hand shyly. He then turned around and opened the door for you to exit, you were out of the door in no time and it shut behind you just as swiftly. Still confused it took a moment before the pride of your accomplishment set in and you raced down to tell Marvin.

Spotting him by the coffee machine you slowed your roll and crouched down into a low tactical stance, creeping up behind him slowly. when you were right behind him you tapped his shoulder and then quickly slipped around him to pop right out in front of where he was just looking. Marvin just simply turned around and sipped his coffee, while giving you a smirk that dripped with 'cute kid' and 'gonna have to try harder than that'. You punched his arm playfully out of spite. "What was that for?" he laughed. "You making me get a new job." You retorted turning away slightly pretending to be mad at him. "You got the job! I knew you would!" he yelled loud enough for the entire station to hear as he picked you up. "Put me down!" you laughed as everyone around you began clapping and whistling. Marvin set you down only for you to be surrounded by your teammates and smashed into a huge group hug.

Unfortunately, you couldn't celebrate for long as you still had nearly half a days work left to do. Everything at work really picked up after lunch and by the end our your shift you were exhausted. The last one of your group to leave, the station looked nearly abandoned as you headed out the main hall. As you drove away from the station you couldn't help but think how beautiful it was all lit up at night.
