I never warped before, why can't we just use the Home Stone then? And they explained that a Home Stone is a cheap trick to get to places with a mark. But comes in handy to those who can't warp. They didn't have time to teach me how to as we held on firmly to each other before warping.

I counted my heartbeats with each second that passes by. Innocents turned to deadly monsters. We need to act quickly before Saoirse becomes one of them. We knew she'd be fine, but the thought still felt scary somehow.

One second we were in the camp, the other second an endless void of chilling breeze greeted us. Like the entire universe was here, but we get to see it in a split second. We appeared in the courtyard of the castle, Wolfblood-Estate. Sun, Harrison, Ryker and Rubio were nowhere to be seen.

"Where are they?" I asked, my throat dry,

"To the Banes, bringing backup," Seth answered, panting. "Samtron, are you coming?"

Samtron turned to the castle, his throat bobbed. "I'll let the others know what happened. Be there in a second."

Sapphire nodded. She turned to me. "Stay here."

She pulled away but I grabbed onto her. "I'm coming with you. I've trained for moons now, I can take on a few monsters."

She seemed eager to strap me to the walls of the castle, but sighed deeply and nodded. She turned to Seth and said something so quickly I didn't catch that.

A seed of light came out of her hand. An orb, I realize. The orb was pearl white, it's light lighting up the dim area of the courtyard. Something flickered in her eyes as she stared at me. But she pushed it towards me and faded inside my chest. I felt. . . complete. Like a piece of the puzzle being found.

"What—"

"Your sword. Saoirse gave it to me earlier before we left. Protect yourself," she said, her voice without any trace of kindness. She turned to Seth. "You will stay close to her. I'll try to find Saoirse."

Seth nodded and grabbed my hand. Before we warped away, I watched as Samtron shouted an order to Vincent. His face pale with shock as he turned to look at us. And then we were gone. The first thing I heard was screaming. Children, women, the loud agony of their screaming.

My ears were ringing as I stood frozen, watching as people fought the Dahmatis. Now that we're clearer in the dark, I could make out their faces. Green wrinkled skin, some with claw marks on their body. Their eyes were filled with bloodlust, ready to shed everything in its path. They look almost like a person, except for their claws growing firm their fingernails. I was going to hurl.

The town was on fire. Citizens of all ages had weapons in their hands, charging for the monsters. But most of all, I see soldiers with a logo of a brown wolf paw on their chest plates. Magic was being used, shields were tossed to those who were down. The cry of a little girl brought me back to my senses. Seth and Sapphire were gone, but Seth was near me, I could smell him.

I watched the blonde haired girl cry out as a Dahmati stalked closer to it. The little girl shot a blast at the monster, but her powers too weak, her mind in too much panic. It did not much.

If the monster bit her it'd be game over.

It felt so natural now that I have my sword in hand. Sam hasn't showed me what it looked like, but I was going to find out. I summoned my sword. The magic flowed from my arm to the hand, already in a grabbing position as the jolt of the sword appeared.
