Summary: Ichigo Kurosaki has always been able to see ghosts, but this ability doesn't change his life nearly as much as his close encounter with Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper and member of the mysterious Soul Society. While fighting a Hollow, an evil spirit that preys on humans who display psychic energy, Rukia attempts to lend Ichigo some of her powers so that he can save his family; but much to her surprise, Ichigo absorbs every last drop of her energy.
Now a full-fledged Soul Reaper himself, Ichigo quickly learns that the world he inhabits is one full of dangerous spirits, and along with Rukia--who is slowly regaining her powers--it's Ichigo's job to protect the innocent from Hollows and help the spirits themselves find peace.

This is probably going to be one of the few shounen manga's i've read - and one of my favourites of all time. I LOVE Ichigo, he's so serious and yet he's also funny to watch with his reactions. Rukia and him are a hilarious duo and you can tell they care about each other (as friends, no romance in this manga). The world is so intricately built and even those you hate quickly work their way into your heart and make you sympathise with them. The anime is also really good - if you don't watch the filler arcs and follow along the story line it's pretty close to the manga as well, but i think they've stopped making the anime now - but there is always the movies..but if you're bored and looking for something realy good to read that will probably take away your boredness for a month, because this takes a really long while to read....go read Bleach!
