Torn between Love and Hate

"Sweetheart. You know that the year is ending soon and yet you still haven't found a woman to marry. It's been six months. Please don't say that we have not given you enough time because we did and we never bothered you about it until now. Was there any woman that captured your heart yet? Anyone?" She suddenly gasped as she covered her mouth and shakes her head from side to side. Both father and son was looking at her quizzically showing on their faces. "Sweetheart. Y-you are not...?"

Jiyong was trying so hard to understand what his mother was trying to say when it dawned on him.

"No mother! I'm definitely not that. Uggh! I can't believe you even thought of that about me."

He ruffled his hair in frustration and shook his head down still feeling frustrated and annoyed.

"Oh I'm so glad to hear that sweetheart, more than you know. But you cannot blame me for thinking that. You still haven't introduced any woman to us, you mostly bring home your male friends."

His dad burst out laughing and would not stop. It made Jiyong mad but at the same time his dad's laughter is contagious as his mother joined him. He found himself laughing with them as tears started forming in his eyes because of it. His mother is already crying out of laughter.

"But sweetheart really." Still laughing a little bit. "Seriously. Is there really no one in your life right now? Because remember what I've said...I do know someone. If anything..."

"Mom stop please. I do have someone in my life and we have been together for three years now."

"Oh my!" Mrs. Kwon clasped her hands together in excitement. "Three years? How come you have never let us meet her? A-are you asham..."

"No mom, there's no truth in whatever it is you are thinking. It's just that...I don't know. Maybe because we have always been busy? I don't really know what to tell you mom."

This made Jiyong think as well as to why he had never thought of introducing the love of his life to his parents.

"Well if you didn't even thought of introducing her in the first place then maybe she's not the girl for you."

Jiyong snapped his head to his mom but his mind went blank and cannot think of anything to say.

"As I was saying. I have a friend who has a daughter. She's two years younger than you...I think. Anyhow, she's..."

"Mom please. I love my girlfriend right now. She's everything to me and she's the woman I would like to spend the rest of my life with. Let me first bring her home so that you can finally meet her."

Mrs. Kwon fell silent and a bit disappointed. She really would like to have her son and her best friend's daughter to end up together. Though they haven't seen each other for over seven years now they still kept in touch. They met up with her friend when her husband and her took a long vacation in America after her husband turned over the business to their son. They've met her daughter Dara again and she's truly a breath of fresh air. She was a beautiful eighteen year old young lady at that time. They would talk often and catch up. She's aware of how hard she had worked to make it to where she is at right now. She's a self made multi-millionaire. She and her mother Mina pretty much grew up together and had treated each other like sisters.

"In one condition that you will definitely cannot disobey us. Okay sweetheart...but in a month. If you still don't have any plans of marrying your girlfriend you will have no other choice but to marry my best friend's daughter Dara. Take it or leave it son."

As if a bucket of ice was just thrown at him, Jiyong felt frozen. If only they have known that he has been trying to drop hints to his girlfriend which would often times would lead them into a fight. He loves his parents dearly and they have never asked him for anything nor they would deny him anything. This is actually their first request from him. He could always disobey them but he's their only child. He's being torn between loving them and hating them. He's known for being ruthless and a tyrant for both businesses and women. He had plenty of shares with women before he met Yu Na. He fell in-love with her after their first night together and both of them are very experienced in bed. Jiyong finally made his decision and agreed with his parent's request. He just really need to convince Yu Na to marry him.

"Fine. A month. After that I give you both my word I will marry whoever you want me to marry."

Both his parents are happy that he's at least agreeing to their request.

"I can assure you sweetheart that you will not regret this and that you will fall in-love with her in no time."

"I doubt that I will ever fall in love with another woman. Though he's agreeing with his parent's request. He can make sure that this will be a loveless marriage for he plans to continue seeing Yu Na." Jiyong thought to himself.

"No. Jiyong we have talked about this. I don't want to settle down yet why can't you respect that?"

"But I will not stop you to doing anything you want even though we're already married. Can you at least think about it?"

"What is there to think about? I don't want to get married yet and I don't want children most of all."

"Yu Na I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. We don't have to have children right away not til you are ready. Don't you feel the same way about me?"

"I do love you too Jiyong, but I just don't like the idea of marriage."

Yu Na has a very good reason for not marrying. Her mom cheated on her dad and left them or so that's what she was told. She promised herself that she will not marry no matter how much she loves the guy. But Jiyong is very persistent and she's not liking the way their relationship is going.

"What do you mean that she left? You're joking right?"

Jiyong was at the verge of getting insane when he heard from his friends that Yu Na left the country and that nobody knows where she ran off to. He ruffled his hair in frustration. He and Yu Na haven't talked in a couple of weeks after their last conversation about marriage. He just thought that they were just cooling down like they always do and then get back together again as if nothing happened. But he's not sure about it this time.
