In Jamaica in around 1962 there lived a lady by the name of Mary. She had three children two boys and one girl. John is her first he is 16 years old, Sarah is the second she is 14 and Sam is the last one he is 6.
One Sunday evening the family sat down to dine when a sudden shaking occurred on the house "Get under the table!" Shouted their mother they did as they were told and went under the table " What is going on mama?" asked Sam, "an earthquake"replied there mother.
Glasses and dishes fell to the ground and broke because of the trembling.

Suddenly the trembling stopped . " Is it over mom?" asked Sam, "I'm not sure, sometimes small earthquakes like this one follow big ones like the one in 1907" she said.
They waited for about 2 minutes then they went outside. Everyone from their neighborhood was outside talking about the earthquake and how frightened they were when it happened. The children started to ask questions "Why did you tell us to go under the table" asked Sarah " I told you to get under the table so that none of the falling objects would turn over on none of you replied Mary.
They did not get to even taste any of their Sunday dinner which was rice and peas and baked chicken so they were hungry and upset. In the night their mother prepared something for them to eat and after that they went to bed. She prepared Potato Pudding and they drank milk, They all hoped something so terrible will never happen again.
