I woke up the next day, took a shower, and had some oatmeal. Esme was still asleep and I'm glad she got the time off from work, hopefully she gets better by friday. I walk out of the house and get into the mini then drive off to work. I decided to go into work just so Esme can have some alone time at home to get fully rested. I hope Mr. Curtis isn't mad with me going in today.  I'm listening to Sugar Ray and singing along to Sorry Now. I can't believe that they called me so late from Mr. Daltons office, I could have been working for a finicial firm and making good money, well a little bit better than Collins Inc. I bang the steering wheel in frustration, and it all hits me. I'm getting overwhelmed with unwelcoming feelings that I started to develop for Mr. Dalton. Although I saw him twice, it was like love at first sight, But I wouldn't call it love. It was more "like like" at first sight. If that made any sense. Then with the death of my parents coming back to mind also, I'm just not ready for anything new these days. But I have to work and get a job so that we can move out asap, we only have three weeks left. 

I'm in the building going up the elevator when someone yells to stop the elevator. "Wait! Wait!" I hold out my hand which stops the doors from closing. Mr. Curtis come into sight, and I'm shocked to see him here this early. "Ms. Castillo surprising to see you here. I thought you were going to come back Friday." "Well i decided to come today. I wanted to give my cousin some privacy because she's sick, so I came in to study these folders that you gave me." He seems taken back by my response,"Well that's fine, you are more welcomed to study in my office and if you have any questions you can ask me. I'm going in for a breakfast meeting at 9:30, so you will have about an hour by yourself." I smile and thank him. The elevator gets to our floor then we both walk out and go into his office. I sit down and start to read some of the names of the people who will be at our meeting next monday. 

"Well I'll be going Gabriella, be back around 10:30. Make sure to memorize what they want particularly in our company please." "Yes sir Mr. Curtis. I will." He walks out and continue reading the names: 

-Dane Theodore Relf: CFO of Collins Inc 

-Lydia Walker: Assistant to Mr. Relf

-Brandon James Kane: CFO of Haledale Enterprises

-Norton George Malith: COO of Haledale Enterprises 

-Marley Marie Jenkins: Excutive Vice President of Haledale Enterprises 

I start to memorize the CFO's first and what they want in our company. They would like to invest in our company and have business done in Japan. Since our company is a finicial firm, not a big one like Mr. Daltons but it was decent. I then memorized the COO and the Excutive Vice President. Where they graduated, what they wanted, how they help in our situation or Haledale's situations and things they will take part in the deal. By the time i start another folder of numbers and all expenses, Mr. Curtis walks in. "Hello Ms. Castillo, how's it going so far?" I look up from the folder and reply,"It going well sir, I've memorized the people who we are coming, what their interests are and what we will get out of it in the end. I've just started the numbers folder." He walks over and sits in his big black chair. "That's great Gabriella. Be sure to finish them up by friday so we can go over topics, and make some calls and organize. You can still keep the folders until Monday." "I'll be sure to finish these by Friday. I'm going to head down to the vending machines, would you like anything?" He pauses for a moment then shakes his head no. I walk out the office and make my way over, when my phone starts to buzz. 

"Hello." "Ms. Castillo?" My heart drops into my stomach. I know this voice from anywhere. It sends shivers up my back. "This is she. May I ask who's speaking?" there is a pause,"It's Mr. Dalton. We had an interview a week ago, I believe." Crap."Oh yes. Hello Mr. Dalton, how can I help you?" "Well Ms. Castillo I was wondering if you could stop by the office after work?" I gasp, hoping he didn't hear me,"Umm of course. Do you have a specific time or?" "Oh no whatever time you get out is fine." "Then maybe around 1?" "1 sounds great. I'll see you then Ms. Castillo" He hangs up before I could say bye. I wonder what this is going to be about..

I finish the second folder by 12 o'clock then grabbed my stuff from Mr. Curtis' desk and put the folders in my bag. "Gabriella going so soon?" I look up and he had just come out of his bathroom. "Yes sir. I'm going to head home a bit early so I could check on my cousin, if thats alright." "Of course. I do hope your cousin and yourself feel much better." I give him a small smile then thank him and walk out. I'm headed out of the building and get into the mini and head home to change clothes and somewhat freshen up. All that memorizing made me pretty tired and sweaty. Gross. I get home and walk into Esme's room. She's asleep. I make my way over and check if she's still breathing, luckily she is and I head out to my room. 

I'm running out the house by 12:30 and get into the mini. I decided to wear a casual all black dress with some cute flats that I got last year for my birthday. Mr. Daltons firm is about 20 mins away from our house, hopefully I dont get there late. I'm zooming past traffic, avoiding main roads, going through back streets to get there just in time. Which I do. I'm walking fast and go up to the 42 floor and get to Mr. Daltons office. I wait outside his office when the reciptionest tells me i could go in. I get up and take a big breath before I go in. I open his door and find him sitting down in his chair, but his back is facing me so he doesn't see me go in, and doesn't hear me either because he's on the phone. I patiently stand there and wait for him to turn around to see me, and what seems like 10 minutes past by and I clear my throat, then finally he turns around and sees me. "Oh sorry Ms. Castillo! Mikael I'll have to call you back later." He hangs up the phone and gets up to pull out a chair for me. I kindly thank him and sit in the chair as he makes his way to his chair. 

"Ms. Castillo I'm so glad that you could make it here. How have you been?" "Oh please call me Gabby. I'd prefer you to call me that. I'm doing well thank you. How are you?" He glances up and then looks at me and says," I've been ok could be better but thank you for asking." We sit in silence for about a minute and I break the silence. "So Mr. Dalton" "Please call me Christopher or Chris whatever you prefer Gabriella." I look down and blush. Oh god. "Well Christopher, why is it that you wanted to see me?" He takes a breath and looks down,"I just wanted to see you and ask why is that you didn't want to work here." I look at him with a 'What the fuck' look on my face, and give a little laugh. "I'm sorry but your company never called me back after the first two days, and then my current job did so I accepted. What do you mean you wanted to see me?" Christopher looks at me with intense eyes and says,"I just really wanted to see you. We never got to elaborate on us meeting at The Foundation." I smirk and stand up and push the chair in. He gets up and walks over to me. "Why are you leaving so soon?" "I really can't be here Mr. Dalton so please excuse me. It was nice to see you again. Good luck with your company and thank you for the interview and your time." I quickly walk out before he had time to say anything else.
