I thought it would be a normal day; I would show up at my little cousin's house, we would go to the skating rink, then we would go out to eat. And all of that did happen, just with a few changes here and there.
My name is Zach by the way. I live here Bunsenville, Texas, not a big city, but I was leaving it to go to an even smaller city. No big reason, just for a birthday party for my crazy cousin, Matthew.
When I say crazy, I mean reaaaalllly crazy. He punched his teacher in her crotch and he is being sued now, and he is only 11. So this might be his last birthday party before everybody utterly vanishes him from their lives, that's what most of our family did anyways. Except for my mother. She thinks that there is some good in him somewhere. Yeah right.
He lives with his grandmother and grandfather. His grandfather didn't even want him, he thought he was the spawn of the devil so he tries to keep away from him as close as possible. On the other hand, his grandmother absolutely buys into all of his bullshit. She claims he is too young to not know that stuff but come on - he needs to learn to act mature.
It took about two hours to get from Bunsenville to my cousin's house. It didn't help that they lived 2 miles from any other civilization.
We pulled into their street which only contained two houses, my cousin's and their neighbors. We past the neighbors house and it look pretty nice. There was a boy, my age if not older, who sits on the front porch starring at us as we drive past their house.
By we I mean my brother, my mother, my father and I.
My brother is one year older than me but I am one inch taller than he is. He is kind of the cool between the two of us, I being the brains. My father is six foot tall, skinny man. I don't know what my mother sees in him, he is a creep. A big ass creep ... I will never forgive him. My mother is a short, country speaking lady with the longest hair ever.
I look up to the front mirror that hangs from the top of the car. My eyes meet with my father's and he smirks at me. I tremble in the memories that flash through my head.
Stop. This day isn't about your past, it's about Matthew.
We reach my cousin's house and he comes out running to hug us. Ew. I hate it when he hugs me, he smells like fucking body odor.
"ZACH! MARCUS!" He grabs us and brings us into a tight group hug.
"Yeah that's enough of that." I say pushing him out of the way.
He frowns a little and says," Hey! Do you want to see me room?"
"Heck yeah buddy!" Marcus, my brother obviously, tells him." We will be right in."Matthew nods and runs back into his house.
Marcus turns to me," Stop being an ass and be nice. It's his birthday okay? Try to lighten up." He gives me a harsh look and goes into the house.
I am left outside with my mother and father still in the car. I look back to the neighbors house. I can barely make it out but I see the boy on the porch still starring in our direction.
----------------------------
"Lego's! Awesome .. " I try to sound joyful but Marcus sends me a glare.
"Yeah! Lego's are my favorite toys! Do you guys like Lego's?" Matthew asks us in his small room with Lego's lying all over the floors.
"When I was six.. " I tell him.
"Oh. " Matthew says as if disappointed.
Marcus sends me yet another glare. I give him an innocent look as if I didn't know what I was doing.
I knew what I was doing. There is a reason I don't like this kid, it's because when we were little, he would destroy my stuff then when I told on him he said it was an accident.
"LOOK HOW BIG YOU GUYS HAVE GOTTEN!" My great aunt Karen comes over and gives Marcus and I big hugs.
"Great Aunt Karen." We both says given each other looks.
"Well, well, well. Look what the shit dragged in." My gruncle Joe called down the hall.
"Gruncle Joe!" I yell running towards him.
He was the only reason I wanted to come on this trip. We had this bond that I could never have with anybody else. He was the only one who believed me about my father.
"Always good to see you Zach." He pats me on the back,"How's school?"
We talk for a good while when finally Karen calls," IT'S TIME TO GO!"
"Wait I have to use the restroom." I tell Joe.
"Use the one by Matthew's room. It's disgusting in there so be careful." He smiles
"Wow thanks." I say with extra sarcasm.
He was so right. This was horrid. The bathtub was horribly stained with something I couldn't look at for two seconds without gagging, the bottom of the toilet was also stained and I swear this was the nastiest place I had ever been.
After I finished using the restroom, we headed to our cars and went to the skating rink.
It didn't take that long to get there. It was pretty big on the outside and even bigger on the inside. We went to the party room where one family greeted us all telling Matthew happy birthday and such. I looked around and eventually my eyes felt on the same eyes they had not too long ago, porch boy.
[ A/N:] Uh. will this story be good ? i dunno . but some of these characters are based on people in my real life such as Matthew, Karen, and Joe. The really are members of my family with those exact names. anywhom - this story is obviously going to be about Zach & Porch Boy. so that should be interesting(; I made the town " Bunsenville " up . I hope it's not real cause that would be awkward .-. hahah . anyways bye c;
